The only twin turbo upgrade I see from HKS for the Supra is a pair of GT2835s. Thats good for about 800-830 Crank HorsePower. Everything else they make is for a single T51R, T51K, or T04Z

Thats not an HKS kit per say. That was put together by the Supra Store and started life as HKS GT2835 kit. But for Sale price: $11,850.00 I wouldn't take that over any big single. If I was going to spend $12,000 on that kit I would do the following instead:

Turbonetics GT-K 1000 $2000
Turbonetics Cast Ductile Exhaust Manifold for big single: $645
Turbonetics Newgen wastegate: $726
3.5" or 4" downpipe for kit can be fabbed up for cheap but being expensive: $450
4" charge piping being expensive again: $450
Oil line: $20
Turbonetics Godzilla BOV: $365
Spearco Intercooler Upgrade: $1275 (it comes with charge piping and a Raptor BOV but lets say we can't use it)
For all that which is already more then that twin kit you're at $5,931. I could still get injectors, an AEM EMS, a triple fuel pump assembly and full fuel system rework, HKS DLI, exhaust and some other stuff and still be under the cost of that twin kit. But I digress..

Thats fine and I personally wouldnt go the twin route with a supra either, but Zilvia asked if there are any twins supras running big power. So i showed a link of a twin kit for a supra capable of more power then he asked. I said it was an HKS kit, I didn't mean just produced by HKS. I mainly meant a kit that used their turbos.

I like the big nasty singles for for drag racing, and the upgraded twins for road racing, or a broader power band. Most Supra guys are building their engines for big top-end power....so they choose a larger single turbo. As a result, they are slow spooling, and gutless below 4500-5000rpm.

When I was in Panama for tuning, I had the opportunity to drive an AAP built Supra with a GT42R, making about 750whp at 18psi, running a Motec. Fast car, but spooled slow. It was a different feeling, but from 5500rpm to 8000rpm, it was scarey fast, and sounded amazing. We hit the "freeway" which was actually a toll road. I was told that if I get pulled over, just hand the guy my passport and $20, and we'd be on our way again!! My kind of country.

There are quite a few Supra's making in excess of 800RWHP with Twin's. There are a couple of kits available and both HKS and Greddy manifolds are available as a seperate unit. The HKS kits is rediculously expensive becasue of the turbos which HKS Japan has designed and built based on Garrett frames. GT2835's and 3037's will make 800+. GT3240's will make over 1000. Saad Saad's Supra made 1200 irrc with 3540's. The benefit to any twin is that spool is quicker then with a single. Most of this is at 28+ PSI though.
