I just got the car back. This actually may be too much power. I will see if I can get comfortable with it, but it's pretty much useless. There is zero traction. This power is insanity on the street. I don't know how some of you guys do it. I have crossed a line here. I had a Grand National that was much faster, but I had it tubbed with a 4 link and 31 X 18.5" Sportsman Pro tire and it could hook. This power can't be managed with any street tire.

Going to have to get another MAP and take it down a few notches for the street!

Thanks PF!

yeah, even with those 295s in the back, it just smokes every gear and thats in a straight line. coming out of a corner and it would be over.

i think the 1 bar WG springs are too much for these cars, i would go with .6 to .8 bar and then use a boost controller to turn it up. a low boost map of over 500 whp doesnt really work

Thats why you dont even bother with street tires. Try some Nitto or BFG DRs in the back for the street. At 30-35psi they feel just like a street tire, just grip a hell of a lot better. You just have to drive careful in the rain, which is really not hard.

Very nice!

I had some 305 Nittos, but sold them in favor for the new 305/35/18 ET Street Radial. Only problem is the tire is on national backorder and who knows if I will ever see them.

Are yours the 315/30/18? On there website they say they are only 25.5 inchs tall. Stock is around 26.7. Have you measured them by any chance?

yeah they are 25.6 inches tall, shorter gears equals faster times!! hehe, thats if you have traction.

Yeah..... I'm happy BG. Nice meeting you as well!

Thanks... and yes as QuadCam stated I am an airline pilot.

I ran a Z06 tonight from a stop, and he pulled away pretty hard while I spun/shifted/spun/shifted/spun/shifted again and finally hooked up in 4th. By that time he gave up. I have another 160 HP more than him. Something has to be done about this traction. Would switching to the 3.3 auto ring and pinion help? I'm also going to get the Toyo R888 semi-slicks in the 295 size. Hopefully that should help some. I'm going to have to get another lower psi MAP made as well.

Larry do you have any of the starting problems with those injectors and the utec? Nice numbers . It's funny how everyone wants that kind of power (myself included) and we can't really use it.

LArry,

Next time...you could tell the guy that you need to use a blow torch on the pavement and prep it with VHT before you race. If you're really quick, you mught be able to do it all at a red light. Just kidding......

seriously though, it might help to set your rear camber to as vertical as passible and changed your kidney-crusher shock/spring setup too. Those are helping your traction issues.

BTW, was this a lowered blue C5 Z06? there is one running around Vero with an estimated 800 rwhp. it's a stroked and poked LS1 with a 200 shot on top. it runs on race gas and has a big rumpity-rump cam in it.
