Forged Performance: XKR's 2008.5 Edition
So XKR (Mike) brought his car back for a fresh round of mods. Let's call it Stage 3.5. Along with the car, came a whole list of things he wanted us to do, much of it custom. I just kept nodding my head...not realizing what we are getting into.
We started by swapping the JWT 700bb turbos with the larger 850bb units, and upgrading to a large Greddy front mount intercooler. We have found that after about 13-14psi with the somewhat restrictive JWT intercooler setup, we start seeing boost taper, even with large 3.5 inch downpipes. Switching to the large front mount intercooler and 850bb turbos completely fixed that issue.
Mike tracks his car frequenty, so he asked us to make a new front support brace to connect the subframe points...since the OEM brace was removed for the intercooler setup. Chris came up with this design, and fabricated this nice aluminum brace in-house. This was not designed for crash protection, but rather, chassis stiffening. His aluminum welds are superb.
Just clears the intercooler....close.
We also installed a second oil cooler and oil thermostat, to assist with oil warm-up. XKR likes two of everything, it seems.
Obligatory engine bay shots:
Mike also had us install a set of TEIN Super Racing Coilovers 16kg springs with remote reservoirs, and dual EDFC's. One EDFC controller handles compression, and the other handles rebound adjustments.
Our interior designer custom molded, and painted Mike's gauge cluster, which houses three Defi Gauges, Intercooler Temp Gauge, and Knock Amp.
CampII:
Clean dashboard, with no CEL's via FP Spec ECU Reflash (reflashing done in house now)
XKR is showing ToastZ how big his turbo is.
Mike wants to keep his numbers quiet, until after the ZDAYZ airstrip event. I guess there are a few people he wants to put a hurtin on. But I made 596whp on straight 93 octane. Thanks guys!

Man I gave Sharif a hard time...not deserving....this time around was hard on everyone because of all the custom work that was done and my wanting high whp's....I knew he could do it and ended up getting way more than expected.
Thanks again Sharif, AJ , Dillon, and Chris...

Nice setup Mike,
Are you displaying the camp2 on the stock navi screen? People say it is some goofy aspec ratio so it would look wierd.
Maybe I can make the airstrip event to see more crazy people like myself.
