Talking pics of my engine bay... lots of eye candy!!

something old, something new, (nothing borrowed ) but definitely something blue....

what's different from stock....?

injen intake courtesy StreetSports
polished manifold courtesy StrictlyZ
nismo oil cap courtesy CourtesyParts.com
painted engine cover, and battery & brake fluid covers courtesy Stuart's
real carbon fiber overlay'd and end painted stock strut bar courtesy Stuart's
blue grounding kit courtesy myself
throttle body water bypass courtesy myself

let me know what you all think... i dont know if i am sure of the colored covers in the rear, they kind of pull attention away from the engine...i will keep it for a while and see if it grows on me.

click here for pics of the install of the manifold collector:

very very nice..... I have a question though what is the throttle body water bypass and what does this acheive. Also do you think the carbon fiber will peel up due to heat

the bypass is pictured in the install... basically it stops the "cooling" system from running burning 180 degree water around the entrance of the intake manifold collector... i wouldnt do it if you live where it could freeze...

the carbon fiber is layed, then resin is added.. then it was sanded down, and then clear coated along with the blue ends.. nothing is gonna happen to it.

How much is the polished intake manifold?

I like most of the changes though I personally would leave the brake/battery covers black, you're right they draw the eyes away from the engine. Probably because of the contrasting black around them.

Where can we buy all the paints you used? I'm looking to do the same thing for the last month or so but couldn't find the right paints anywhere!

sa-weet.

Did you do a brake upgrade yet? I think that's the first thing I'm going to do if I ever get around to spending any more dough...

pads and lines only.. they make a world of difference in feel and bite. i dont think i will be tossing the brembos anytime soon... the way my car gets housed on the freeway by supras and Z06s makes me feel worse...

ricky: i had them painted.. i dont know what they used..

the guy who did the carbon fiber'ing to the stock bar said it would be $200 + shipping + painting (if you want the ends painted).

he also said if he could do the black plastic pieces on the outside of the B pillar for about $120 if there was enough interest to get about 15-20 done.

here is a pic of the enginebay with the black covers..

WOW! Looks GREAT!

I don't think I"ll copy, other mods before......

My question, does anyone else think the GREEN bolts look like sh#t? Did Nissan get an AN surplus buy? Although the Z IS heavy, I don't think Army Tank bolts look right.

Damn, that's exactly what I've been wanting my engine bay to look like, except I want the strut bar Daytona blue as well. And a Greddy tt kit, of course. Anyway, you definitely have the nicest looking engine bay that I've seen on the Z so far.

Car looks awesome! You are missing one thing that I can think of. On the Vivid racing web site, they sell Samco radiator hoses in Red, Blue colors. These hoses would look good on your car. I purchased the red set for about $150 for my crome silver, but have not installed them yet. Will post Pics when I do. I can't wait to se your car in about 6 months, wonder what mods you will have by then.
