Waited for parts. New steering wheel is on it's way and so is my exhaust. Still.
Installed the Z1 brake master brace and bedded in the new brakes. I went with some mild Hawk pads and StopTech rotors but will probably change out the pads for something more aggressive soon. Not too happy with the bite even for street+backroad use. Or maybe I just need to change the fluid.
Is shiny.
Sorry bout the dirt, it started raining last night when I went home from the car meet.
Bonus pic of lil'Zapper hangin from the key fob, instant +15whp from that guy.

But still my new erwin pair snapped the nose off with only minimal abuse. Not impressed

Agreed. I'm not a big fan of Irwin (even the "assembled in USA" stuff). My old rusty Petersen vice grips I've had for 30 years still get used all the time simply because they work better.

New tires, new Whiteline bushings and OEM bolts on rear control arms [spring cups], old ones were frozen to the old bushing sleeves, followed by alignment.
All is good.
All is good.

Washed my car and the polishing I gave it a few weeks ago still looks great. Did a 3 stage polish because the paint was HORRIBLE. Missing A-Pillar, but that is getting painted right as we speak.

Fixed my A/C
After reading several posts on this site about A/C blowing warm air and overheating in stop and go traffic, I was able to determine my radiator fans needed replaced. I also needed to replace the underbody shield because the prior owner had scraped it several times and it was being held on by zip ties.
I called the local Nissan dealer and asked for a quote to replace the radiator fans and the underbody shield and was told $700 for the radiator fan and $200 for the shield! I bought a new fan for $110 from Rock Auto and splurged on the aluminum shield from ZSpeed for $185 and installed them myself, saving $600!
I used a prior post on this forum for the instructions on removing the fan assembly and the shield was self-explanatory.
I got my orders from Rock Auto and ZSpeed in a couple days, the products were great, and this forum was invaluable in helping me diagnose the problem and replace the fan assembly.

Finally, after 7 months of construction projects and moving BS, made enough room to get the Z in the garage. Now i just have to MAKE time to get prepped for my one and only track weekend this year, this weekend.
Gutted the trunk space to lay down some sound deadener. First time ripping the rear interior out and first time working with this stuff. It's not pretty, but it works and you can't see it anyway.
Found this guy hanging out on the trunk floor. Anybody know what it's for? The previous owner installed parking assistance (which is awesome), anything to do with that? Or is this some oem feature thingy just not being used?
I used GT Mat. Butyl based, odorless and ooooh soooo sticky!
I laid a single layer with some overlapping parts. Focused on the wheel wells or what little I could access of them and then filled in the floor. Left the drain plugs accessible and all that.
I ordered 50sqft of GTmat Onyx, a butyl compound with aluminum backing, and used about half of that for the entire trunk.
It took the edge off the road noise and just upped the ride quality a notch, just what I wanted!
Oh and by the way don't be a tool like me, use gloves when working with thin metal sheets.

I believe that might be for the navigation system, pretty sure I removed mine, it goes all the way up to the front passenger side.
For some reason I lost my head unit power after I disconnected it, but I did some other wire manipulation at the same time that might have caused the issue.

On the other hand mine ran on the passenger side, that looks like it's on the drivers side... It might be for the multi disk changer available as an option on some models.

After being on the road so much the last three years (I was gone about 10 months total out of each year) Now that I have PCS orders I finally got her out of the garage and fixed. Had problems starting up. The chip in the key had gotten ****ed and never sent the signal to the anti-theft. Also the clutch switch needed replacement.
The wife originally wanted me to sell my Z before we moved to Japan but i was able to convince her to let me keep it. And my parents have room at their house to store it. (We will already be storing her car through the Gov).
I felt so great getting back in her and driving around. I thought I'd have problems driving stick, since i havent in the three years, but it was like riding a bike.
