Default My first Z '03

Hello everyone, picked up a Z last weekend, its a world of difference from my 2nd gen Eclipse. It didn't state what trim level it was, what's the easiest way to figure that out? I don't have pics of me with the Z, but I have it on its own...

24K OTD, 30K miles on it, Did I do alright? I looked at a bunch of other Z's, but this one was loaded with extras.

Looks nice. You don't have a base as you have cruise control on the steering wheel. Those are the 19's from the 2005+ G35 Coupe, NAV adds some. Leather seats, Bose, It almost has to be a 6MT touring in which case you did pretty well at 24K OTD.

My '03 Performance (one down from touring) with 19K and stock 18" wheels was written off at 23,500.

Sharp looking Z. The original owner added some tasteful appearance mods. Congratulations. BTW white on white is a very unique combination.

Thank you for the compliments and comments.

I actually found this online, went to the infiniti dealership and couldn't find it in the lot or showroom. I asked a salesman where the 350Z was and he said, "we have a Z here?" He asked someone else and she said it hadn't even arrived on the lot yet. Then they told me about the extra stuff added to it, Nismo exhaust, flywheel, stereo, nav, leather, G35 rims, etc. They said something about the intake, but it looks stock to me, then again, this is my first Z and I didn't have any friends with Z's so I couldn't tell anyway. They also mentioned it was lowered, but I didn't know they were Ti2000 springs until last night. Then the salesman told me I can put 500 as a refundable deposit to have first right of refusal. They got it in the next morning and I bought it right after the test drive. They had it detailed for me in the afternoon and gave me a Q45 as a loaner (fully equipped, 40K sticker) and I liked the loaner, but I just wanted my Z.

There is a rattle at low rpms that I have to take it back for, I figured it was the heat shield, but I figure if I mention it, someone may know what it is.

Best choice I ever made though. Its a very fun car and a heckofa lot more responsive than my eclipse. Speaking of my eclipse, anybody want some 96 Eclipse OEM springs? I'll just charge shipping...

I didn't have too many problems with my DSM, aside from that whole replace the engine thing...

And the rotor thing (read:warping)

... the last thing I replaced was the clutch master cylinder on Christmas eve, that and what seemed like an impending transmission replacement are what provoked me to start looking

Normally I would take a couple of months to find a car, with research and everything, but this seemed like too good a deal to pass on, so I took it. Ohhhh so glad I did too...

I think I figured some more stuff out, like I said, I don't know anyone with a Z to compare.

Here's what it came with (Aside from the normal touring stuff)

Airbags everywhere (dunno if they are standard)

Nismo spoiler, installed over the stock spoiler.
Its a crawford V5 intake (Me thinks, I'll get some pictures in a second)
G35 19" rims
The stereo/sub system
Flywheel
RS-R Ti-2000 springs
Aftermarket exhaust header, that is if the stock headers look like this:

I can't see what kind yet though, but the pipes look like the Nismo headers

That rattle is the lightened flywheel. Just keep it under or over 2500 rpms and no rattle

I knew it was gonna be a great car as soon as I saw it. I was just surprised the old owner is a regular here. I feel a helluva lot better about the car, and I don't have to figure out some of these parts. I think I read about a tranny replacement, which makes me feel a whole lot better too....
