Like I said before. 1000 hp supras do this. My truck has welded wheels. Boyd Coddington makes 2 piece wheels that are welded. Most 2 piece wheels are welded. I dont see a problem.

Glad I found this thread. I think I am going to do this ot my wheels. That way I can have 9.5" all around, still have light wheels, and a big savings over a new set of wheels.

I am bringing this thread back from the dead, because I just realized someone from nissan must have seen this to now put 18x9 in front and 19x10 on the new 07 grand tourings...Just a thought. If not I am looking for somwhere locally in AZ to have this done, after driving my buddy 07 gt The handling of those wheels feels amazing. My buddy is also considering turning the 07 rays to 11.5 for more traction once the HR goes forced induction!

The wheels are still holding up. You can even add to the front side. Everybody is into the the fat lip anyways.

Throw the rear 8.5s up front, widen the front 8s to 9.5? One day.

It can be done. I've seen this done on a set wheels that my friend has. Only problem is that you will have to grind down the weld. You can have a machine shop do that. Polish it up and you should be good. Not sure if you could do it on the track wheels. I would ask weld-craft first. It might need a little more lip to do that.

I didnt see any pics of the wheels mounted or anything other than the rim shots welded, have any pics or before after or side by side with a stock, thats a cool idea.
