i had a front impact that spidered my two headlights about 2 years
ago. purchased two ebay oem lights, performed some surgery, and
had two.... eh.... so so lights. I am no professional, and had water
condensation in both. It dried quickly whenever it occured, and
i found new headlights and traded the busted joints out. I say replace
with new '03-'05, or upgrade to '07+

Hey guys, this issue has been brought up several times dating all the way back to 2003 and even 2008 models! People with 06's wee getting them shortly after purchasing their cars, no overlays. Where there is no real proof that overlays in general are causing cracks, some say it might be speeding up the process. Also, the Lexan Nissan is using has been the cause of cracking from what I've read, and that Nissan was replacing headlights under warranty. I remember a few threads way back in 03 where people were getting cracks, many of them didn't even have Overlays or any type of headlight protection! I had them on my Z for 2 plus years with no cracking. Several members in our local club also had overlays, no cracking. Its a judgement whether you want to get overlays, I personally would do it again if I had a 350z.

The overlays did not cause the damage. I hate to say it but the 350Z headlights are notorious for cracking. not sure why but I know for a fact that the overlays did not cause the cracking. I have gone to apply headlight protection film to brand new 350Zs and they had cracks already. These are cars straight off the lot.

actually... my lenses were perfectly fine on my 03 until i put overlays on.... didnt take long at all for them to look similar to that picture.... best advice i can give is dont install these in the summer.... as the sun dried the water between the lens and film.... the cracks appeared

Hmmm I have an 03 Track with stock lights (no covers) and they are now so bad that the power of my headlights seem reduced. I have extended warranty you think I have a shot in hell?
