Lunch on a weekend sounds cool.

I've never been; what is the parking situation like there?

It's not bad. Worst case you can park in the Solana Train Station and just cross the street. Pizza Port is right across from the station.

Most likely we won't be able to get all the Z's together though unless we all park over at the station's lot.

Hee hee, do you have a buddy who lives on Coral Reef? I see a silverstone parked there once in a while. There is also a CS further up Soledad Mtn. Rd. I followed home once (probably scared him ). BTW, where do you "play" in Mt. Soledad?

no buddy on coral reef. All these owners around, and I never see any Z's on the road!!

I like to take night drives on the yellow routes. I dont push it hard, obviously, its too residential for that. But it sure is nice powering up those hills with the windows down listening to the engine growl and looking at all the nice houses under Xenon light. Ill take little routes over and over. Its very relaxing! The car is so composed under every type of turn that these routes have to show you...

the absolute blast is this last little leg. Its always a finale, cuz once you take it, your stuck on the freeway and might as well go home. I dont know if you are familiar with it...I used to take this little suicide curve everyday going home from La Jolla High.

To all:
When going down the hill and nearing the bottom, everybody turns left to go into La Jolla, but look ahead! Its a crazy straight away that looks like a dead end. Go to the end of that and turn left. There is a little curve that will scare the **** out of you, no matter how slow you go. After years of taking this, I know how to go somewhat fast and safe at the same time, and passengers will always scream for their lives!!

No I haven't, just found out they existed from this site. Usually ride with a small group of buddies and sometimes with socalriders. It's starting to get really hard to find descent people to ride with here in San Diego. I would say about 90% of the riders here do not know how to ride, have never been on a track or the backroads. Most have bikes for trix and show. So I just stick with riding with my buddies and tend not to do any group rides(too dangerous if you know what I mean, too many people trying to show eahc other up.) I have been riding since before sportbikes became popular(96) and really hate the direction the hobby is taking. My insurance use to be around $20 bucks a month full coverage, now it's $150. Too many kids dying because they think they know how to ride or just like pulling wheelies/stoppies. Oh well, one less on the road. Sorry, about rambling.

There's a great Hawaiian/Japanese restaurant called Bamboo Hut. It's on Mira Mesa Blvd, across the street from Wendy's. It's between AutoZone and Wings N Things. Their address is:

Bamboo Hut
9172 Mira Mesa Blvd
San Diego, CA 92126

It's a great place. Us Altima/Maxima guys go there all the time and you guys are more than welcomed to join us.

hey guys, just got my Z thursday night. My dealer called and said that they had some orphans coming in that are similar to the one I ordered(Jan. delivery). To make a long story short, I am now the proud owner of a Silverstone Track. So chalk another one up for Mira Mesa.

Now I just have to break her in...DAMN RAIN!!!

Default San Diego question

Hey San Diego People, I kno wthis doesn't have anything to do w/ the Z , but I have a question..or two

First of all did all of you grow up in SD or did you move from another area? Have any of you spend any time in the NYC area? Ok, now here's my situation.. I live in the NYC area my whole life (28 years old ). I was thinking of transferring with my company to SD. I was never there, but I hear nothing but great things. Anyway, I'm just wondering , being from NYC, if I can survive the west coast. I was told like Calif. people don't like New Yorkers, of course I don't know how much truth there is to that. I'm just lookin for an opinion, if possible.. Thanks

if you can make it in NYC you can make it anywhere.
SD is cool I know people from chicago, boston, NYC, they do well here, you can make like minded friends and its all good. there are lots of different types of people in Cali, San Diego, etc.

If there is one big negative its going to be the home prices -- avg 330K.

good luck with your decision.
