I live in the NYC area my whole life (28 years old ). I was thinking of transferring with my company to SD. I was never there, but I hear nothing but great things. Anyway, I'm just wondering , being from NYC, if I can survive the west coast. I was told like Calif. people don't like New Yorkers, of course I don't know how much truth there is to that. I'm just lookin for an opinion, if possible.. Thanks
1] Nope. Born and raised in the Bay Area (Saratoga to be specific). Went to college @ UCSD and been working here since I graduated.
2] I've been to NYC but on vacation. Besides the hectic, crowded streets... I remember it being humid and freakin' hot in summer. First time I learned about a DE-humidifier.
3] SD is nice. Mild weather.... very, very mild weather. 70's is the norm around here. SD people are pretty laid back... more so than NorCal folks and LA people IMHO. Lot of nice coastal communities from SD up to Oceanside/Carlsbad. Traffic isn't to bad but it really depends on the direction you're going to work.

I like it here. I think my next city will be Seattle. But not for a few more years. Move while you have a chance... once you got roots, game over. Carpe Diem.

Hi...Im the predsident of "get the f*ck over here to sandiego and leave the rest of the country behind" club. lets look at the facts.

1) The US is the most kick *** place in the world. Everyone (yes, even pakistanis) want to live here.

2) California is the ultimate desitination for good weather, beautiful women and fun in the US. Those who cant afford to stay, return unwillfully to their cold rainy hometowns.

3) San Diego has the best beaches and consistent weather patterns in all of California. Its beautiful here...so much so that when its cold and rainy here its such a rare thing, that even thats beautiful. The women are great, the clubs and social life are acceptable. You cant beat DAGO.

I have therefor proven that San Diego is the best city in the world to live in. DONE!

I am a New Yorker who has lived in SD since '87 and think its getting way to big, so no, you would not like it.

OK, let me put it another way, I ain't going back because I now live in America's FINEST City!

Talking

I am a real estate broker in san diego.

If you owned your home for more than two and 1/2 years you have already seen more property value increase than any normal market would see in 5-8 years time.

You are already WAY ahead of the game.

Enjoy it and leave the outsiders OUT!

Please post your location in the SD region. I'll adjust the map to fit people in outlying communities if needed.

I'll get a link to the map soon so people can view results. Also if you can list the color of your Z... I'll use little Z colored icons for your location. ( Gettin' fancy here... )

Hey Nwind...so, how about that map??

Wah... I'm getting to it. Sorry about that delay.... I got caught up in house remodeling the past two weeks so things were kinda hectic (still are).

Don't worry, I didn't forget.

Hahah was it around 10:30 ish? Cause I think you and I waved to the same Z cause I wave to a silver one on Genesse turning left onto Executive Dr. It had two people in it.

I was in a Le Mans Sunset heading toward the 5 to go to work.
