I know I can't be the only one here to ask for some help posting a picture or two. I just put on my new wheels and tires (19" front - 20" rear) on my wife's (yes I said my wife's ) Z! I would be very greatful if I could e-mail someone a couple of pictures to post for me. Thanks in advance!

Sure no problem. I sent you a PM.

Also, you know you could also attach the picture in the post by using the "attach file". But maybe your pics are big files

If you have the pictures, resize em to 640x480 and under 200Kb then you can attach them to a post using the attach file function.

Ok here are KMAKAZ pics...

(I resized them so that it will be viewable to those running at low resolution and to keep the file size down)

Driven, I honestly don't know! I had Todd at Discount tire Direct do some research to see what he recomended, and I went with that. I did go larger on the back than on the front. The front is a 245-35-19 on a 8.5" wide rim, the back is a 275-30-20 on a 9.5" wide rim. It looks just right with a little larger wheel on the back where the car is fat, and a little smaller on the front where the car is skinny. The tires fill out the wheel wells, and it looks good in person. Now to throw on some Eibach springs and call it good!

KMAKAZ,

Could you get ahold of him and ask what offsets? You would be a great source of info for me since I want to run the same stagger...but up 10mm on both tires ie. 255 up front and 285 on the rear. If you could...please find out what offsets and let me know exactly how much clearance you seem to have between rear fender lip and tire sidewall when the suspension is compressed a bit. I'd really appreciate it....by the way, I could never run a 20" wheel with the roads the way they are around me...but I like the way they look on you wife's car!

thanks again,
Driven

VERY INTERESTING!

You're the first one that did a 19" (f) - 20" (r) combo. How do they drive? Any rubbing problems?? Yeah.. definately find out the offset for us.

See ladies and gents, another person fitting 275's in the rear w/o a problem.

The fit is great with plenty of room to spare, that is why I am going to lower the car just a tad. The wheel difference front to back seems to make the car look right instead of having a big wheel that looks to large in the front and in turn makes the wheel in the back look to small. Do a search for dinscoun tire, and you will find Todd. Shoot him a e-mail, he is quick to respond and a nice guy to work with.

I am asuming you are talking about front to rear weight ratio? If so, you can change that buy filling up with gas! People seemed to be absolutely bent on light weight wheels so you can go fast! That only works if you have a 1/8th of a tank of gas, no one in your car, or any other weight. As soon as you add any any of these factors; fuel, another body, stereo equipment, groceries, your work out bag or brief case can all have a effect, but not anything to wild. I do not autocross or race in any fashion, so I am not looking for the ultimate performance set up, I just went for as little compromise as posibble and the look I was trying to obtain. The balance is fine, the wheel/tire diameter works out real close to stock, and it looks good. I am happy with the result, and I hope everyone else enjoys it as well!

Remember, both the corvette and nsx have (or at least had, not sure about current model years) staggered rim diameters.

Having lightweight wheels is more important than how much weight you have in your car. Adding several lbs of unsprung weight on each corner is like reducing your HP by 5-10. Also, handling AND braking suffers tremendously... Your ride also gets worse by heavier wheels, even several lbs...

So...since you are on the topic...who remembers the weight of the stock 18's? The Performance one's. I read somewhere, but have since forgotten. And the weight of our stock tires? By the way, did everyone get the same tires?? Seems to me some people got one brand and others a different.

Its in here if you do a search. I remember 18 Performance at 26lb, rays at 18lb and the 17's at 23lb.
