BFG makes a 275-40-17 DR that would work for you.
Mickey Thompson makes both a 275-40-17 DR and a 295-45-17 DR.

You are not going to notice a difference between a 275 and a 295 when it comes to performance. The 295 mickey is a pretty big tire though diameter-wise, probably not a good idea for an NA Z unless you have something really specific you want to do with your gearing which I doubt.

If these tires are not going to be driven on daily, and are going to be only used at the track or perhaps if you bolt them on for some street racing (not that it's condoned here), then the Mickey is what I'd go with. It'll be stickier than the BFG though the BFG is no slouch by any means (the mickey won't last as long because it is a softer compound). I know a guy cutting 1.6s and 1.7s on BFG 18s in a Z. For a track only/race only tire I'd go with the Mickey 275-40-17 in your position, with the mods your car has. If you need to drive them on the street only in nice weather then go with the BFG, if you need to drive them on the street in both nice and rainy weather, go with a Nitto. ( I know you said these will be race only, but I figure this is good info for others who might read it too).

This set-up will work for you - 15 x 8 wheel with 5.5 back spacing. I run 275/60 Mickey's ET Street Radials but you could run a 275/45 also, I believe.

Also, I'm selling a used set for cheap $150 shipped.

Bolt right up with standard brakes, depending on the tire you may have to roll or trim the wheel well.

Will Not work with Brembos
