Default Turbo 350z DE

Got a full vband turbonetics kit. Had to piece it together and got a vs racing turbo and having issues spooling it. Only build like 2-3 psi. I did boost leak test and fixed the little leaks but problem still persists. Turbo is 67/62.

Fire ring installed on the WG?

Hows the BOV? Sealing up like it should?

I tell guys to pin or block-off the BOV or WG closed (one at a time) and gently increase RPMs and see if boost builds or not

yessir. Turbosmart comp 40. Previous turbo didn’t have vacuum nipple. New turbo does. Gonna put wastegate vacuum to turbo and see if that’s my issue.

It is a problem. you might have enough washers or spring rate in there to hold most of the boost, but it should be leaking
the proper way is to have a vac line which holds it down under booster and opens it quicker under vac/boost from throttle plate closing not only making it easier on the turbo from surging but making sure it does not leak under boost

I've attached a pic i found online for reference. red line is what you need

.

car hits 7psi and rips. Don’t need to plumb the bov as I’m a step away from putting plate instead. To each their own on surging. Car is doing great.
