Hey whats up, I live on the westbank and see lots of Z's but never on here. I was wondering, when is the best time to go to the track?? When can I get out there and get some runs in. I'd like to get a couple in b4 I start my mods just to see what I can do. And, are there ever going to be any meets around here??

Check out No Problem Raceway - that's where the guys from NO and BTR go. Wednesday nights are Test and Tune.

The LA Z Club has a NO chapter, but post-hurricane it's pretty dispersed. The BTR chapter has been meeting regularly and of course, guys from NO are always welcome. The website with more info is http://www.louisianazclub.org

There probably won't be a Jan meeting as we are planning a car show. I'll be posting an announcement as soon as the date/time is finalized.

 

Hey thanks man. I just sent them an email to join. Do you know what I have to do to join?? And what goes on at the meets and what kind of events go on. I have never owned a car that could be in a club or go to meets or anything like that. So its all new to me.

 

I want to join too, is anyone going to schedule a canonball from BR to NO. It seems like the Trooper are not anywhere to be seen, i Got my Z up to 110 on the I10.

 

Yeah, that would be nice. I was up to 115 the other day on I55. No cops. I'm still waiting on the inf. to join. Is there anything else I should do??

 

Dave, I'm sure you know the guy with the black pearl 280Z but he had invited Chase (other Z owner at NPR) and I to the January meet so is it going to be cancelled this month? Just want to make sure since its this Sunday coming up. Hopefully I'll have my Z by then, brought it in for the rear axles and possibly the tranny.

I'm not sure what's up with the Z club meeting this month. It was not going to happen because we were going to put on a show at a dealer later in the month. It looks like the show is not going to happen but I haven't seen anybody confirm that the regular meeting at George's will happen or not.

There is an Autocross school that is going to happen on the 21st with a regular autox on the 22nd. The announcement and registration for the school is supposed to be open to the public today but I don't see it on the site yet. I'll post announcements for both the club meeting and autox school once something definite is set.

Yes, I saw that NPR is open again, in fact there is a track event I may go watch this weekend. The N.O. autox region is supposed to hold an autox on Sunday the 15 and I might be going to that too. It's going to be a busy month but I may try to make it out to NPR one Wed night - weather and time permitting.

 

I asked the person I mentioned earlier about the meet and he said that as far as he knows, its not cancelled. He is going to call some other members to confirm however and I asked him to PM me as soon as he finds out to keep you guys updated. He did say that the car show at the dealership was cancelled because they never received a response. He did mention that they will try to get a meet/show at LeBlanc Nissan soon.

I'll keep you guys posted.

 

Yes, the latest messages this afternoon point to us having a meeting Sunday as planned. Looks like we're going to meet at Georges Southside and then drive over to another location. My vote is on Hooters on Siegen. I'll post an announcement as soon as it looks like the details are definite.

Aeleven, do you know where George's is located? If you do plan on going to this meet from New Orleans, basically take the Essen Lane exit south and go all the way down to where it ends (Highland Rd) and its on the corner on the left. Can't miss it.

I was the guy you met with the LS Track edition that Wednesday night. The guy with the black Enthusiast was Josh. He is not a member here. I have been trying to remember what your screen name was since we talked. Bad memory. Anyway, I am always up for a track day or meet. Let me know, as long as I am not working I am there.

 

Ahhh man, I couldn't find your screen name so I just gave up. Figured I'd probably catch you there again sometime. I saw Josh there last Wednesday and practically everytime I've gone. I'm sure we'll try to have a little Z meet there again but it's been pretty packed I've heard. It sucked last time because someone hit the wall and got antifreeze on the left lane so they ran one lane for the rest of the night.
