I want a second opinion on my car, i think nissan is trying to dick me around or they could be telling me the truth, however, i don't know anything about these motors. Thinking bout bringing it to goodyear which is where i take my BWM to get serviced and they always do a good job.
Problem I'm have is horrible rattling noise which comes from the front part of my engine at start up. Nissan told me it was because my engine is holding the sufficient oil pressure when i shut the car off, so when the car settles, all the oil settles at the bottom of the the engine. ( can't remember exactly how they worded it ), but i think they said the tension chains or pulley chains rattle because they aren't lubricated, so when i go to start the car, the oil shoots back up into the motor and then the noise stops. This noise only happens at start up, but after the the car has sat for about 30 min to an hour. Othe than that the cars runs like a champ with no problems.

Sup dude, I'm in Gretna too, around the bingo hall on Franklin.

if it is an engine rattle it is normal when starting. we have an oil pressured chain tensioner that usually lets the chain slap till oil pressure is up. even my new 08 with only 5k miles makes the noise at times.
