St. Louis are Z owners, WE WANT YOU!
For those of you that live in or near the St. Louis area there is a well established club that is always looking for new Z enthusiast.
The club is 25 years old now and we have 50 or so members. We are a diverse group with a wide variety of backgrounds and ages but we all have a love of the Datsun and Nissan Z cars. Overall we are a very casual group, most don't have perfect cars and we all appreciate Z cars in any condition, especially those that are driven on a regular basis. The cars of the club range from the oldest 1970 240Z to the newest 350Z (at least three long time members have bought the new Z). Some are maintained and modified for drag racing, some for show, and some for road racing; but most are used for 'all of the above' and a lot of daily driving. As a club we try to have a variety of events: from purely social events (Christmas party and the AB brewery tour) to the pure driving events (autocross, drag racing) and a lot of events that are a little of each (winery tour, car show). Except for winter months, we have at least one event per month. The car show and winery tour are by far the most popular events with most members participating.
A year membership cost $30 which includes: a monthly newsletter, a membership card which entitles you to significant discounts from 5 area dealers, and a decal for you card. The discount we receive will usually save members well over the $30 dues.
We have a monthly meeting which you are more than welcome to attend. It would give you a chance to meet a few of the members, see some of the cars and help convince you to join. We are currently meeting at O'Leary's, a nice little restaurant at 3828 South Lindbergh, on the east side of the street, about a mile south of highway 44. The meetings are on the third Wednesday of every month, and start at 7:30. Some guys eat dinner, some just have a drink. We try to keep the business part to a minimum, especially when it's nice enough to be in the parking lot where we usually end up after dinner. The next meeting is February 19.
