OK....maybe once this artic blast passes we can try to put something local together.
Unless something major happens I'l be going to ZdayZ.
I'm interested in going! By the way, any of you know any good car stereo shops around Collierville/G-Town?
I just got me the Pioneer Avic Z2 and I wanna get it installed ASAP! Dobbs Nissan keeps wanting to send me to Cars, Trucks, etc., but I'm kinda wary about them.
TIA!

Collierville Car Stereo has good service and prices and a few good reviews from friends.
Bartlett on Stage road - Soundwaves is a very reputable shop.
Stereo 1 on Germantown Parkway in Cordova next to Malco theatre is also a pretty good shop. They are nice and do good work.

Go up to Xtreme and ask for Joe. Tell him Beka sent you. He is the owner/working man of Word of Mouth detailing...
http://www.wordofmouthdetailing.com/
If you want to see some of his work, sign up on memphisracingscene.com and look in the Exterior Interior. He does EXCELLENT work, restoring and fixing any paint, minor scratches swirls etc. BUT be prepared to pay a pretty penny for a full detail, but of course just a wash/wax won't run as much. However, his work is unbeatable.
And yes. local Z. live in cordova... where abouts in c'ville do you reside?
There's a few local Z owners on the board... But most don't post unless there is something Memphis related going on... Erionrider is local as well.

Question...Anyone recommend a reliable service manager at one of the local dealers?

I have also heard heard good things about the detail work the guy at Extreme does.
Hey Beka.....were you at Johnny Brusko's over the last weekend? I noticed a DB Track sitting in front and wondered if it was yours.

I have gotten to know the Z pretty well.

I'll give the guy at Dobbs a call....thanks!
I'm running 245/18's front and 275/18's rear, both with +20mm offset 8 inch front, 9.5 inch rear.....I'm concerned that I may have rubbing issues if I drop the car with that aggressive an offset. Any opinion about the Hotchkis in my case, does it drop the car much?

I live off Houston Levee.
I just got back from the guy at Collierville Car Stereo. He's very personable, not fake, which sold me his services. Getting it installed first thing tomorrow morning! =D
Ok, so now I have the inside trinkets done, how about the outside? When I get back to California (in a year or two) I'm planning to "track out" my car. I'm looking at RSR coilovers and rear camber/toe kit for the first thing and an aftermarket braking system for the second phase. I'm hesitant to do any engine mods that will "void my warranty", but I'm sure, in time, that will pass as well.
Currently, it's a 2007 Base with a cat-back dealer installed NISMO exhaust.
Ok, bring it on! (your suggestions)
I got my "free" oil change done at the dealer (Dobbs Nissan off of Winchester and Kirby Parkway), my dealer was Jim Peeler (nice enough guy). I, too, am looking for a non-dealer service person/shop. Maybe one that can perform my modifications before I get back to the San Francisco Bay Area.
Are there any car gatherings, here? I'm used to all the groups and clicks from my motorcycle scene. Those were so easy to find!

I bought my Z from a friend of mine - so no dealership fanagling there. But always go up to wolfchase nissan...Dusty and Sam are a couple of the techs who are friends and also few of my friends work there in other dept. i'm cool with the service writers so they don't mind if i just go in and watch my work be done or do it myself on one of my buddies lifts.. lol
a watchful eye misses nothing!
yes that was me... I was at Jonny Brusco's ... I was actually next door getting my hair done at Nice hair on sat morning/afternoon.
I live off macon/sanga. Not too far.. seems like the three of us live right next to each other.

as far as car gathering.... there haven't been any in a long time... the whole scene kinda fell apart... and the Z thing definitely fell apart when chachi died since he was the main lobbyist for that....
we should go ahead and pull it back together!

HA! 3 is fine with me... My days usually end early and I'm home all weekend doing techy geekness.
So after the talk, it sounds like Jim (Collierville Car Stereo) is talking me out of gettting the rear camera installed. On top of it, I accidentally ordered a second one!
Let me know if you know of anyone wanting a rear view camera... although, I'm thinking of installing one in the front and rear... methinks maybe to record myself whilst on the track (future thoughts)...
I just read about the whole Chachi thing...
