Ok guys a few of use here in mississippi are wanting to get a room or a cabin in the area and we are splitting the cost. is anyone else intersted in going in with us on this. We should of reserved this a while back but I think im gonna be able to pull something out of thin air to get a room. Anyone who is interested about really going let me know.

you can get rooms in Maryville. its like 30 minutes away. 20 of that 30 minutes is on Foothills Parkway which is gorgeous anyhow.

 

I really want to go but I'm in the same boat with no place to stay. How much are you talking per person? If I go I'll be bringing the misses.

 

they have some time share rooms for 170 a night already checked. you can bring the wife, as long as she does not mind staying with a bunch of guys. the more the better. no way am i staying 30 minutes away.

 

She wouldn't care about staying with guys as long as ya'll don't try to pull something on her like the guys did to Greg in Florida LOL. 170 a night isn't chit divided up amongst 3+ people.

 

I wanna go but don't know where to stay. I think some of us discussed staying with some others that have already rented rooms.

 

ok i can get a 2 bedroom cabin that sleeps up to six but im figuring we can cram 8-10 of us in a room and save a ton of money for 207 a night with a 15% discount. i have 3 of us right now from here who are for sure are going. anyone else intersted. let me know. the cabin has to be paid for in advanced they will only reserve for a week and im sure the closer it gets to zdayz the more rooms will be paid for so we need to do this now. so anyone who is intersted let me know in pm and make for sure you are going cuz once i pay for the room out of pocket and you pay me then you are locked in the deal =þ. lol nah either way let me know.

Yes the joy of living so close. I hardly ever leave mississippi so it will be a nice change to see something differnt. And just maybe kayfunk will show up. But I doubt it.

 

It's Friday, May 16 through Sunday, May 18. However, some (if not most) of us from this area are going to be driving up Thursday the 15th. I went up on Thursday last year and was very glad I did. You can get some really good driving time with very little traffic on Thursday evening and Friday until the early afternoon.

You probably won't be the only couple in the cabin. My friend Tim and his wife are planning on staying with us also. If it's agreeable with those of us who are single or not being accompanied by the Mrs. (like myself), we can save a real bedroom for you two. I do think, out of fairness to those on the floor, to ask for a few more dollars from the bedroom residents. I've been on both sides of this situation before and I have always chipped in a few extra bucks, but those details can be worked out later.

Right now, we just need a core group of people who are definetely going to attend (extenuating circumstances notwithstanding). The room has to be paid for in advance, since the lodge will not hold a cabin for more than a week without payment. We have a couple of people who may be willing to front the cost of the cabin, but the details have not been sorted out yet. As soon as there is more concrete info, we'll post it up.

For budgeting purposes, plan on about $40 per person per night for the cabin (it will definetely be less than that, but I like to leave a little wiggle room when I make plans like this). Dinner is provided on Friday and Saturday night, and we'll probably get some stuff to put in the fridge (luch meat, etc.). They have a short order restaurant at the resort, so you don't have to worry about driving into town to get food. Gas.... well, it's 575 miles from Biloxi to Fontana, NC - less than two tanks of gas. I'd recommend bringing a couple hundred bucks cash for the vendors' deals (Forged, Z1, Crawford, Injected, and more), raffles, shirts/hats, souveniers, etc. Realistically, $500 (a little more for a couple) will net you a very good time. I think I spent about $300ish last year, but I was in a regular hotel room ($80/night) with 3 other people and no car to put gas in (I wrecked it two weeks before Zdayz). You can definetely get by with less than that, but I've been to car events before with very little extra money, and it ain't much fun.
