Oh man... fair enough! My bad. I'm looking to get into Auto X and checking out some drifting. Let me know when that starts back up and how I can check it out!

Does anyone know of a good tint shop in Norman? I'd be willing to go as far as the city but I'd prefer to find one in Norman. Thanks in advance!

I don't hang out in Norman much (other than Moe's Hookah bar once in a while when my wife, a bellydancer, is dancing there), so i can't help you out on that side... but if you do decide to come into the Oklahoma City area I've got a shop I've used before and they did a pretty decent job, and I've heard good things about another. Just let me know if you're interested. If not... lets hope some of the Norman guys chip in!

I'd be willing to travel to OKC for a good fair priced shop. That's definitely not out of the question. I just don't want to drive all the way to Tulsa for it. I mean, I'm sure there's places nearby that are good. I'd appreciate your recommendations!

Anyone else? I like me some options

theres a place called sun tint in nw okc. its off of nw 10th st. I paid $120 for 15% tint on special. on other days its $140. Some best buys have a geek squad offer tint intalls the last time i checked they did them for between $150-$170. the places i mentioned have warranties as well

If your serious about your car....I mean really serious....the only place to go is Auto Distinctions in Tulsa and talk to JP. They aren't cheap and I know its a drive, but if you want it flawless, that's the only place I would trust.

Really? Best buy? I'll look into that as an option.

How about this sun tint place? Did they do a good job?

I'm OCD so I have an extreme dislike for flaws. My family is in Tulsa so driving there isn't an issue. I'd just prefer a closer place. What makes this place the only place you trust? The amount of dedication they put in their work?

Also, for those that have gotten tinted windows, 25% all around is legal in Oklahoma according to tintlaws.com. I'm wondering if anyone has had any issues with having darker windows.

How dark are your windows and have you had any issues?

They have tinted 4 of my personal cars and I have referred at least 10 others to them. I have never had any dust or left over debris between the glass and the tint. The tint has always been cut perfect to fit the windows. This has been my experience with them for the last 18 years (o my that makes me feel old). They are the oldest 3M tint shop in oklahoma, which means more to me than just my personal experience with them. Getting your windows tinted by a 3M Dealer means a lifetime warranty on the film quality and color. Though, honestly I have never had a problem.

The first car I had tinted at 50% in the back and 25% in the front and it was WAY too dark to see at night. It was perfect on a sunny day, but at night, when most of my crusing was done, the windows really effected my judgement of some females lining Memorial Drive (Still to this day my buddies won't let me live those 2 instances down).

Anyway hope that helps. I just looked at their website to get the phone number and now I might be booking an appointment for some graphics with their paint protector film.

Okay... I've got to ask. Which of you actually got out in this weather in the Z today? I'm here, sitting at work... Z chillin' outside on it's "Summer" only tires... and I'm the only one who, apparently, can make it in today.

you sir are a brave man, but i learned my lesson last year around this time when it iced over and i didnt have a second car. Potenza RE050's were no match for the ice. A FWD beater is the way to go

Well school was canceled so the Z stayed in the garage and out of the inclement weather.

I'd argue that Potenza RE050's aren't much of a match for even dry roads.

I just take her slow... some gas in the tank... and stay away from the idiots. She'll get dirty, but who doesn't like that from time to time? The only thing that will keep her in the garage is if I can't get out of my driveway, I don't need to go anywhere, or the snow's high enough I'll do nothing but scrape the whole time. Other than that... I love a challenge! During last years super bad ice-storm I drove from dallas to okc and made amazing time.

This afternoon and tomorrow I'm going to tear out the the hatch interior and put some sound deadening insulation in the hatch. May do the door cards too if I feel ambitious.

Boring I admit.

I hear that's not too hard... but it'll add weight. I'll be interested to know how the shocks do supporting it. Good luck!
