HAZCC-Heart of America Z Car Club- is a Kansas City based Z club. All Z's and G's are welcome.
Our August 7th gathering will be a double bill.
Bill #1 will be our August Zocial at Tanner’s Bar and Grill at 143rd & Metcalf on the Southeast corner. Let’s start gathering about 6:00 p.m. for refreshments and food. As always, you are responsible for your own tab.
Bill #2 will be Powell Observatory in Louisburg. About 7:45 P.M. we will caravan from Tanner’s out to Louisburg, KS. to be stargazers for the evening. Powell Observatory is a privately funded and constructed Observatory. Their homemade telescope is truly impressive. A bonus for the fact that members of the Observatory set up their own telescopes in the lot for gazers to enjoy. If you’ve ever wanted to see the rings around Saturn or the moons of Jupiter, this may be your chance.
Admission is $5 per adult and $3 for children. Please have exact change.
Powell Observatory is located at 10297 W. 263rd St., Louisburg, KS. Their website is http://www.askconline.org/powell.htm . A great map is on this link. WARNING! Watch the speed limits! You'll be driving in some 20 m.p.h. zones.
This is open to all. Feel free to join us at Tanner's or meet us at Powell Observatory.

It's looking like the weather is co-operating. Saturday's forecast calls for a high of 87 degrees and partly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain.
If you do join us experience tells me that bug spray, a small flashlight, and a chair come in handy.
