It appears we're going to have decent weather for the weekend. So, I'm planning to crash the G35/350Z party in Raleigh on Dec 4th. (see this thread)

If anyone from the Charlotte area is interested in going, we should cruise to Raleigh as a group.

Meeting Place: Starlight Cinema parking lot (just off I-485 at Hwy 29 in the University area)
Meeting Time: 10:15am

Travel Plan:

• Depart Starlight Cinema parking lot at 10:30am
• Stop in Greensboro area for lunch... this will give any Winston-Salem/Greensboro Zs a chance to hook up with us for the rest of the drive
• Roll the rest of the way to the Flying Saucer
• Hang with the Raleigh crowd, then head back sometime that evening.

I figure this agenda should put us arriving in Raleigh for the meet at or slightly after 2pm.

Mabey some of the other guys that have had trouble putting events together can link up along the way.

 

sounds great guys! i hope to be there on saturday. I am on call for the next couple weeks...so i am going to see how the rest of the week plays out before i commit. Tony...are there any wi-fi hotspots in that area? =P

 

Yeah we can get a faint signal at my house off of Six Forks but downtown I would assume has a strong signals with all of those companies down there.

where do you guys plan on parking? i know the lot right behind the saucer is not always a good choice (towing) and there isn't a whole lot in the way of other lots within view of the place.

Yeah... I was going to ask about that, too, Anthony. Parking could be a problem if we roll in there with a lot of cars. Send me an email by Friday so we out-of-town people know where to park.

whether you make it or not, can you suggest a good stop at an exit off of I-85 somewhere near Greensboro? Preferably someplace quick and with a good parking lot! Plan is to stop there for lunch and give any Triad area people a chance to meet up with the Charlotte group for the remainder of the drive.

 

Ok guys, we have 4 reserved spots (WOW) but according to the Craig, the manager assured us that there will be plenty of parking on the street around the whole place because it is not busy during that time on Saturday.

Seriously, tho... I know the area. Getting that many spots is a feat. Too bad they don't have a bigger lot. The Flying Saucer here in Charlotte could easily accomodate 30-40 Zs and still have enough for their regular customers.

Hey, Anthony... any plan to relocate the group after the Flying Saucer? Maybe head to a park or something so we can get some group shots. Doesn't sound like Saucer parking is going to make for good photography.

 

Yeah we are going to "Crash" as you say the Ale House! Huge Parking Lot in that Shopping Center! If they are crowded the State Employees Credit Union is across the street!

G35driver.com is back up and running so I just hit everybody there just in case other G's or Z's want to roll.

I did not notify Triadz... I bet Anthony has Triangle Z covered. Several of those guys are pretty active G35/350Z owners.

Must post meeting place near Greensboro soon! The caravan will probably get up there just before noon on Saturday.

Just a reminder, anyone interested in riding with the group, we are meeting at the Starlight Cinema parking lot at 10:15am tomorrow morning.

This place is real easy to get to. You should get on the I-485 loop and head toward the University area.

Exit at Hwy 29 and turn away from downtown Charlotte. Starlight Cinema is on the right just before the road that takes you to Blockbuster Paviolion (and pretty much right next to I-485).

For anyone in the Greensboro area... sxzgin has suggested meeting up someplace near the mall. We'll probably hit a restaurant over there for a quick lunch stop, then proceed on to Raleigh. Will post meeting location as soon as Jen gets back to me.
