Alright, sounds good. I'll be sure and arrange a meeting time/place etc... and I'll shoot it out to the club email list maybe tonight or tomorrow. I'll get it posted up on the website shortly after. This will make for one heck of a day for Z cars. My dad hasn't decided if he's going to the Rock yet or not so I'll have ot wait on him to see if I'll be driving or riding. I think my Uncle with the Corvette might tag along so I might just ride with him.... I have no idea yet though.

Maybe if I get it out to the club we can get Brian, Randy, and maybe a few others in on it which would make out for a nice showing of Z's at the strip.

Any news on the Friday night dinner? I know we where going to try and go somewhere as a group after we got everything set up over at the dealership that night. Probably around 6-7ish and in the Independence blvd area. Maybe Johhny K's or something like Ruby Tuesdays or Olive Garden.

Saturday, August 13 - Z Jam during the day and the Rockingham meet/show/race that night.

Okay... lots of info floating around concerning this weekend, so I thought I would sum it up. If you are in town, feel free to meet us at any of the set locations.

FRIDAY
5:30 - 6:30pm: Meet & Greet at Independence Nissan in Charlotte (6901 Independence Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28227)

6:30pm: Caravan from Independence Nissan to CPRacing

7:00pm: Meet at CPRacing (4240 South Blvd, Charlotte, NC)

7:30pm: Leave CPRacing for dinner (location to be determined)

9:00pm: Late night on the town for those interested


SATURDAY
morning - 4pm: Carolina Z Jam at Independence Nissan

5:30pm-ish: Weather permitting, depart for Rockingham Dragstrip

7:00pm: Arrive at Rockingham Dragstrip and proceed to wear out rear rubber in mass quantities!

Here's what I sent out to the Club.....

Saturday August 13th (The day of our show) plans are to meet at the Bojangles in Monroe at 5:30. For you veterans its the same one as always, for those of you who haven't ever been this is the Bojangles off of hwy 74 just before the 74 / 601 split. The bojangles is located on the left if you're coming from Charlotte and will be directly accross the street from Union Regional Hospital. You'll come accross one other Bojangles before this on if you come down 74, its shaped like a riverboat. This is not the correct one, if you don't see the hospital accross the street you're at the wrong one.

I'm sure we will announce these plans at the show as several out of town people have mentioned being interested.

From the Bojangles we will caravan to Rockingham dragway which is about 1.5hrs away. Gates open at the Rock at 6pm with fun runs begining at 7. There will be a quick 8 and bracket class this night so if you're up for some real competition it awaits you here. As per the flyer the test & tune will run till 2AM.

If you plan to eat at the Bojangles be sure and allot a little time. We need to be out of there before 6.

 

Z MIKE MAN im headed from wilmington to charlotte friday afternoon....whats that forecast lookin like there? also what are ur plans friday cuz id like to get up with some of yall on friday when i get to town that afternoon

 

Forecast looks good for Saturday, theres a small chance for afternoon showers though, as with every hot summer day but that shouldn't effect the show.

It might rain a little Friday evening but if it does it will be scattered.

This is a rain or shine event, so we will be out there no matter what. We went through with this show last year in a Hurricane and still had an awesome time.

Friday's plan's haven't been ironed out yet as far as a club dinner or anything. Looks like allot of the guys on here are planning to meet up at CPRacing and go from there. I can tell you that several of our members will be meeting at the dealership at 5:30 Friday night to drop off trophies, tables, chairs, club tent etc.... and get a couple things squared away (Last minute work kinda dealy). I believe we will probably head out to dinner after that. As soon as I hear something definitive on this I'll post it up.

Im expecting a ton of people who haven't pre-registerd to show up. So with that prediction I'm guessing we will be running into the wonderfull problem of not knowing where to put so many cars.

Andy, thanks for taking the lead on this (must be all that ZDayZ practice). Not everyone wants to go go to dinner this late on Friday night. So, we have a slight modification to the plan.

We will still meet and great at Independence Nissan around 6:00. Then, one group lead by Andy, will head to CPRacing to hang-out before going to dinner. The other group will head straight to dinner @ the Mellow Mushroom in the University Area.

See you Friday night, then again early Saturday morning.

 

sounds good guys, i'll be at cpracing around 12:00 tomorrow getting the car done. not sure how long it will take but dinner around 6 sounds good. any plans to go out after that ? never been to charlotte, would like to see what they have to offer on a friday night.

Morris: Just curious, why the university one instead of cotswald again. Thats a much shorter drive from the dealership and would still be on the way back towards your place? Anyway, not that important, I'll be there Friday night alone probably. My parents have another wedding to attend to (To bad for my dad, thats gonna kill his cleaning schedule lol).
