To Flyingscot...

Cool... contact me after the 1st. For the time being, I guess I'm the self-appointed ringleader down here. Looks like our group is going to meet for lunch somewhere around mid-January and will probably discuss our next excursions.

To everyone else...
I'm going to go through this post and add you to our mailing list as well. If you don't want info on the Charlotte, NC group activities, just respond letting me know you want off the list.

Merry Christmas to all and happy Z-motoring!!!

Default Shopping list for grounding kit

Here's what you need for a grounding kit:

At least 11 feet (Cameron, bring 4 meters ) of 4 guage cable. Monster cable is the most common brand.

Bolts & washers: M6 (standard of stainless steel metric bolts with 10 mm heads and the right thread density. I found them in the drawers in Lowe's)

length 10 mm quantity 2
length 16 mm or 20 mm quantity 2
washers, flat, quantity 4
washers, lock, quantity 4

4 guage connectors, quantity 10 - loop-type, crimp type, copper is good enough. These are the hardest to find. I found them at an auto stereo installation shop.

If you have any questions, ask me or Eric

Brian

Dude, I just read about 20 posts on that thread you linked us to, and those guys are the biggest bunch of sh*ts I've ever had the displeasure of reading! I haven't been on many message boards on the nets; maybe I'm spoiled by this civilized little board we're on here.

One thing we are (or at least try to be) here is realistic. I know that there are a WHOLE bunch of BMWs out there that I have no chance in the world of beating. I tell you what; let's even the playing floor. I'm stock; I'll race any stock BMW you care to put out there that costs $35,000 (or less) new.

WHAT A CLOWN!! Its a shame for one moron to waste so much oxygen.

I am at the BMW plant in (BTW its in GREER, SC not spartenburg) alllllllllll the time, and know most of the staff there, that guy is an idiot and most people there will know it.

The guy sounds like a waste of skin that cant even drive. A little power in the wrong hands is a dangerous thing!

I actually find it amusing that someone would be so scared of the Z's performance that they felt it necessary to bring a $90,000+ M5 to the fight. Not to mention a twin-turbo kit on the Z would probably even things up a bit. (Total price $42,000). That's enough money left over to buy a luxury SUV for the family vacations.

What a dummy!

I got an email from a guy in Raleigh who wants to race

says he has a BMW 325i with " a small engine swap" whatever that means. Doesnt seem like a fair race to race a stock Z, probably has a damn m5 motor in it

No, no, you misunderstand; a "a small engine swap" means he swapped it for a smaller engine. I bet he has a Civic engine in there - go for it!

Was one of you guys at the Cary Ale House last night, Saturday, 12/28 by chance? As I was leaving, two spaces down from me was a blue Z. Very nice! That's only the second one I've seen riding around. Both were blue. hey it may have been the same guy/girl both times. Anyway, just curious.

Black Enthusiest. No matter how hard I try I can't stray away from black! I know they're hard to keep clean but they look SO good when they are. I'll just keep looking for tips and tricks in the detailing section of this site. Lots of info there. I was going to just get the base model cause it's the lightest of them all, but I think the limited slip's worth the extra cash. I should be placing the order in 2 weeks though. CAN"T WAIT!!
