Well for anyone interested in upgrading their brake pads.Nopi is having a really good sell on their line of Satisfied GS carbon/ceramic pads fronts are $37.68 (non Brembo) rears are $39.77 (non Brembo).I'm not sure which GS line they fall under but for the price I'm willing to give them a try.I ordered a full set to have a little more braking confidence at Gainesville.Check them out go to Nopi.com and put in vehicle info and look under specials.I also ordered some Motul RBF600,I can't wait to get the date set.

The stainless lines will give a little more solid pedal at hard braking.I just do not think it will be noticeable enough to me to use them.A good set a pads and racing brake fluid go a long way.I'm trying to do this for as cheap as possible.I think I'm going to finish off the stock tires on the track, but I would love to have the grip of these Kumho MX's out there.

What will make the biggest difference is DOT 4 fluid and good pads. Stainless lines won't do much, they just take away the slight flex of regular lines, you get a very stiff peddle. Get DOT 4 fluid (superblue is great stuff) so the brakes don't boil the regular fluid and get good pads like Hawk HP+. Those rock! When I push the brakes on my 8 with HP+'s on, they empty out my tear ducts from the G-forces.

I'm not very sure about 1/4 mile times. I'm not really a drag racer. I did a search though on the RX-8 forum and I'm seeing slips from people and I'm seeing a lot of 13's and 14's for some stock ones. That's about all I can tell you, I've never dragged mine. The RX-8 is a momentum car, not a torque car. It can carry a hell of a lot of speed through turns and the suspension is wonderful. It's very balanced making it wonderful for a road course.

So what are you guys doing for Insurance? Most tracks require 2-5 Million to run an event, or did this track wave that?

It is $2000.00 full day up to 20 cars which includes EMT and insurance.
Its a testing/training facility that might be the difference.
Well just called to see about getting the dates available, and they are still wrapping up the gatornationals.I will most likely not have the dates no earlier than Monday next week. Damn it's hard to spend money sometimes!

What weekend are you thinking about? How many people? You should post in the RX-8 Club (www.rx8club.com) Southeast section about it. I'm sure you'll get some interest there.
Great idea. Gainesville is too far of a haul for me but if everything goes well and you guys would like to do it again, Road Atlanta would be awesome. Perhaps we could get up to 30-35 cars in on that track to drive the costs down even more? I'd say the atlanta area would have alot of Z's/sportscars. Just an idea.
