2003 Amelia Island Concours Rally
Anyone interested in a rally to the Amelia Island Concours in March? Would be a nice drive out to the show (across the ferry? -we could fill it w/ Zs !) to look at some beautiful classics. Thought I would throw it out there for consideration.
Here's the info:
The 8th annual Amelia Island Concours d'Elegance will be held March 9, 2003 on the grounds of the Ritz-Carlton, Amelia Island, and will feature over 250 rare cars from seldom seen private collections.

I like the idea of going up there, but what if there is a mishap with the ferry? "7 New Z Cars Damaged in Docking Accident!"
Seriously, I'm up for a caravan up there. Maybe we could meet in Southside Jacksonville and take I-95 up to the A1A exit. Cruise through Yulee and O'Neal, FL to the Amelia Island Parkway in Fernandina.
What do you guys think?

I've never been on the ferry, but the access from Jax on 2-lane A1A is a more scenic drive than I-95 and then heading east.
There is no easy parking at or around the Ritz during the concouse unless staying there, but they run a shuttle from a lot at the airport or should I say the landing strip. Thats about the easist place to leave a group of cars.
Its a great show...worth going to.

YULEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That would be a super nice drive all the way up. If you don't want to take the Ferry, why not take 9A over the Dames Point (YES!!!) Bridge and go North on Heckscher Dr.
Just don't let the cops know..... If you know what I mean (waiting on the other side of Dames Point).

I like the 9A idea! We could get on that by the Avenues Mall and go for miles and miles and miles on great roads, before turning off on Hecksher.
Other than me, everyone is convenient to 9A out there, so there shouldn't be a problem.
Any other ideas?????????

Marked my planner
I marked my planner for 3/9. The 9A route is the easiest also you get the best of both worlds with 9A and Heckscher Dr. The Ferry is a good idea also, maybe on the way back or something along those lines.
