Local dealer in on CRACK
Grab a cup of coffee, this is a good one:
So before I begin, let me make it clear that I love my Z...it's been my dream car. However, I need more room, and I wish I made enough $$ that I could own a sedan and a Z, but that isn't possible.
So I go to one of the local dealers yesterday thinking I'll look at the new Altimas. I'm trying to save some $$ too, so the 2.5S looks the way to go with the lower price tag and better gas mileage - and probably better insurance cost. $21,300 is appx the sticker...so I'm thinking, "sweet, this can save me a ton on my payments and get me into a decent car." Then I notice they've added a $999 dealer premium package to the cost...instant BS. Then let's add all the other fees...so now we're looking at $23,700 car.
Well, just for kicks I have them run some numbers against my 07 Z. Yes, it's a few months old...*shame shame*
When they come back, this is what I get: (don't forget by now they've added a $2,500 extended warranty, so now it's a $26k Altima).
With a 1k down payment, $600 a month for 72 months.
With a 5k down payment, $500 a month for 72 months.
What the hell?!??!?! Just look at those numbers...they're basically trying to add in $9,000 negative equity on my Z. (Remember, it's just a few months old, so they're taking all the depreciation, and then going to make a killing selling it back on the lot).
They refused to show me how they came to those numbers, tell me what my Z is worth, or even *let* me finance with my bank. Of course they knew my bank wouldn't eeeeevvvvveeeerrrrrr put up a loan for the fast one the dealer was trying to pull on me.
This is the point where I walk out.
