anyone headed to VIR this coming weekend for the Grand-Am race? here is some info off their site...
April 25-27 is the pinnacle of VIR’s sports car road racing events: the Bosch Engineering 250, a Grand-American Road Racing Series Rolex Cup event. Grand-Am’s Daytona Prototype sports cars take to VIR’s Full Course in an electrifying show as these exotic cars compete over the 3.27-mile track. The VIR round will feature the Rolex Prototypes and the GT cars in a 250-mile clash over VIR’s classic Full Course. Joining the Prototype and GT cars, SCCA Pro Racing’s Speed Challenge Touring cars bring their fender-to-fender excitement, plus Skip Barber National Series and the SunTrust Moto-ST endurance motorcycle races. Marking the series’ debut that weekend, the Volkswagen Jetta TDI cup brings a fleet of identical Diesel-powered racers at the hands of aspiring young road racers, in their inaugural race. The Society of Automotive Engineers stages their Collegiate Design Challenge at VIR this weekend as well. This competition pits teams of engineering students in a competition to design the best-engineered, best handling and most economical car. Teams from around the world are already entered.

I think what I really miss is the cool factor more than the actual job itself.
Here are some shots I grabbed at the 07 Daytona 24. Had a hand in some part of every one.

Went to VIR on Sunday. It was great, except very limited Nissan participation............like none. Sad to see such an effort by Mazda and other manufactures, VW had an nice presentation.
I have seen 350 pictures on the Rolex Website, I thing Playboy Racing. But, they were a no-show on Sunday.
Sad.

I was in the red coupe, but I did see the roadster you are refering to. Later in the day I was at the big oak. The 4,000 ft. back stretch was amazing to see and hear. I did not see the Playboy car at all and I was everywhere. Too bad.
