Hey guys, I'm going to florida for a week during Christmas for a family trip. We are planning on spending a few days at Disney World, but no other plans really. Just wanted to ask the locals on what's good for family!

My cousin is in training at Disney so she can give us discounted tickets, even hotel. But I think Disney hotels are still a lot more expensive. Do you guys have any recommended place to stay that's cheaper and not too far from Disney.

Lastly, I'm in LA. Is there a cruise to Florida? and are they good in winter?

Might wanna check out the OZOC section those guys are all from Orlando. When I went up last year I stayed in the Westgate Lakes Resort. Was 96 bucks a night and I thought it was a decent place. Full kitchen w/ 2 bedrooms. Master bedroom w/ like a king size bed and jacuzzi and 2nd bedroom had 2 full size beds. Big couch inside w/ a big tv (old tv though) and screened in patio. For the price and if you want to share a room was a good deal.

 

East gate is pretty good, and its right next to Old Town..
Cruise from LA to Florida will be Hella expensive..although you could take a train, those are always fun..

 

i stayed @ a fantastic hotel directly across the street from downtown disney
for $100 night. fireworks from 2 parks (epcot and seafood world) visible at
night. I believe it was the buena vista palace. best deal near disney for the
$$$ hands down... make sure you're in a renovated room. classy.

I think it was a Raddison... Were your right off the expressway? I stayed there and it was clean, centrally located, and it had a pool...
