Registration is now open for the Spring Super Solo Shootout brought to you by Element Garage, April 27, 2013.


This event will be held at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium and we are expecting a course in the 90 to 110 second range, with fast flowing sections as well as some technical twists thrown in. We will have food on site, T shirts, and a day full of full throttle autocross fun.

Registration is on the Axware site and we ask that everyone register online. ALSCCA Season Passes DO NOT include this event, so if you are a season pass holder, you will have to register for this event and pay the $45 entry fee. This is NOT a points event for ALSCCA 2013 CHAMPIONSHIP.

Event Plans

The SSSS will take place like most other solo events we put on, with the exception that at the end of the event we will have the shootout for the Top 20 Pax Drivers. We will likely have two run groups and do 3 runs in the morning, and 3 runs in the afternoon (this is subject to change depending on number of entrants). After all of the runs are over, we will determine the Top 20 Pax times and those drivers will participate in the Shootout.

Shootout

The Shootout will be similar to how ALSCCA has run it in the past. The Shootout will consist of 5 Rounds. The Top 20 Pax times will be used to determine who participates in the Shootout. We will then take each Shootout Driver’s best Raw time during the earlier 6 runs, and use it as their “benchmark”. During each round, each driver will try and better their time from their benchmark.

Round 1 – all 20 drivers get one run on course. The 5 drivers who fail to better their time relative to their benchmark, or fail to best their benchmark time the least will be eliminated.

Round 2 – the 15 drivers get one run on course. The 5 drivers who fail to better their time relative to their benchmark, or fail to best their benchmark time the least will be eliminated.

Round 3 – the 10 drivers get one run on course. The 5 drivers who fail to better their time relative to their benchmark, or fail to best their benchmark time the least will be eliminated.

Round 4 – the 5 drivers get one run on course. The 3 drivers who fail to better their time relative to their benchmark, or fail to best their benchmark time the least will be eliminated.

For Round 5, the final 2 drivers’ benchmark will be changed. We will take their fastest Raw time from Shootout Rounds 1-4 and that will be their new benchmark.

Round 5 – the 2 drivers get one run on course. The driver who bests his benchmark by the most time, or fails to best his benchmark the least (in the event that both drivers do not best their new benchmark) will be declared the WINNER!!!!

We are less than a week away. If you come to any event this year, this is it. We will be looking at a 1.5 to 2 minute course. For $45 you will get 6 runs plus a shot at the shootout, lunch, and a T-shirt.
