The center caps don't actually "Blow" out, what happens is that the plastic melts when the wheels get hot and they simply fall off. I'd take the OEM centercaps off before any heavy braking event like this.
Here's a pic of you in the paddock next to Eric I think. I'm getting very tired, so I'll send a link to the 100MB worth of pics tomorrow evening.

jtree 07 loved the incar vid!
did i hear you gear down to 2nd on the turn 7? i only geared down to 2nd at the oak tree! i kept it in 3rd most of the track except for coming out of 7 ,2 and of course the oak tree. turn 7 was the only turn i kept not going deep enough into. i think i got my Z up to around 119 -120 it was my first time on the VIR south so at turn 1 i started braking after the 4000ft sign! the RX-7 i rode in didn brake to right at the 1. i thought we werent gonna make it everytime around. im glad you posted that your lap average was around 1:28 i was so excited driving i paid no attention to how fast it took to get around the thing. someone the otherday asked and i had no idea.
also what run group were you in?

yep you heard right... I got in to 2nd at 7 and oak tree, some times at, 1 if there was a likely pass after 1-2 and I was hitting 4th right before southbend... I was in the green run group. I was on the brakes at the 3 on turn one at times.. would have been fine at 2.5 even on stock rubber/pads with the right line but tooo close to the limit for a HPDE.... every where else I was on the brakes at about the 2
I have tried going to second; I have found that if you carry enough speed through those corners (which I think you guys were doing) you have enough torque to leave it in third and avoid an un-necessary shift.

jtree07 after watching the vid i realized that after you passed that other car i was the silver Z in front of you. cause i remember that the car in front of me wouldnt motion me to pass. so we all got bunched up. yeah i left it in third until the instructor made me go into 2nd for oak tree. i didnt bother with the heel toe cause i dont have my foot position where im comfotable yet. i just depressed the clutch while braking and released it when coming out of the apex
i remember your car cause you had the JDM front finisher and CF emblem inserts just like me!
