alright people, I need to know someone that is a REALLY GOOD exhaust shop that does CLEAN work. I am faced with 2 choices since my exhaust tips are not long enough and they are touching the top and bottom of the kit opening.
1. leave the exhaust I have on and have the tips cut off and have new ones welded on. Problem is I cant seem to find any that look good and will work. I dont want rolled edges on the tips either. And I don't want to look rice.
2. Take off the exhaust, buy a resonator to quiet down the noise have it custom straight back from the down pipe to the resonator to the two seperate tips to look like dual exhaust. Again I can find any tips that look good. The tips need to be smaller than 4.5" but not smaller than 4". If I went this route what are we talking for price, I found this for the resonator,
Ultra quiet stainless steel exhaust resonator 3 inlet Vibrant Performance Resonators $93.97
Resonator body dimensions 6.75" wide x 4.5" high x 14" long
So thats $94, tips $84?, piping? I shouldn't need that much pipe.
The tips also need to be step up tips i.e. ID 2.5" OD 4". I dont know what the diameter of the exhaust piping is coming out of the muffler, that I will have on Monday but I am guessing at least 2.5"
IF I got tips like whats above is it easy to just cut off the excess?
MagnaFlow $82 for a pair
Inlet Inside Diameter (in): 3 in. diameter
Tip Shape: Round
Tip Outlet Size: 4 in. diameter
Tip Installation: Weld-on
Tip Material: Stainless steel
Tip Finish: Polished
Overall Length (in): 12 in.
Tip Cut: Slant
Tip Edge Style: Non-rolled edg

Road Runner Muffler in Kissimmee. Ask for Orlando. He's got a Viper exactly like mine only with 1,000hp
I don't know anyone local that does mandrel bending. I'm sure there is but it might just take awhile to find one. You might want to ask him

Would it be better to just walk in and let them do the work, i dont know how shops will act if i bring in tips and resonators, but I dont want to get rapped, money is becoming tight lately.

Hey all. I figure I would mention here that I have a Pioneer Avic Z2 with the ipod interface for sale. In perfect condition, was only in car for 30 days. Decided to "not go big" and keep it stock. comes with screen protector which has not been installed yet.
$950 pick up price in CFL

The other thing I was thinking of doing but I wasn't sure how it would look, was to have metal flashing top and bottom as a protection for the paint.
I have seen some cars in japan that did that to their kits around where the exhaust came out at the kit. I would blue it with heat, rivet it to the bottom and top of the kit flush to the edges of the exhaust pipe, or across the entire opening but only in the opening, this way the exhaust tips wouldn't burn the paint and any exhaust soot that gets on the kit will wipe off easily. This would be the absolute cheapest way to go but I dont want to look rice as before nor do I want to look like a fool.
It looked really good on one aristo in japan. That is where i got the idea from. I saw it on a IS in one of the car magazines here in the states as well.
I might just go and pick some flashing up for real cheap, funny thing is I just threw some away last week. I can go their put the bumper on cut some and just see how it looks. It will give me a basic idea. Wont hurt any to try. Who knows. Just a thought.
