Lightbulb Moving out to Florida, need help!!!

I'm planning on moving to Ft. Lauderdale in the near future. I'm transfering my job and this should happen be the end of next month. Any advices on places to rent, sites to look and any information at all about the city will help. I have been there before but I am not too familiar with the area. Also, I'll need to find a good transportation company to send my G. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Hope to see you guys down in Florida.

Leo

I'm not really familiar with Ft. Lauderdale, but just wanted to welcome you to FL.

I enjoy my car all year round in SD as well. But i'm sure I'll enjoy Florida as I am originally from Brazil which has the same humid weather. Do you guys have a lot of GTG down there?

My car is being shipped tomorrow. Paid $1500 for it but it'll go rapped like a baby in a enclosed carrier with 2 bentleys.

Anyhow, Ventura is in dade county. I was thinking around Sunrise are in Ft. Lauderdale. Any of you guys have good info about the city?

You would rather have to decide whether you want to live out west, or east closer to the beach. Where is your job located at (if it's not a secret)? My advice is to look for a place as close to your job as possible because I95, Sunrise blvd, 595 are almost always congested and will make your daily commute a nightmare during rush hour. Sunrise is kind of west and I really have no impressions as far as what type of neighborhood it is. Like the rest, I don't know the area too well. I really like certain parts of Plantation and Pompano.

Maybe you should ask someone to send you some brochures with apartments for rent so that you can get an idea of the places/prices out here?

VERY sexy G, btw.

I'll work on West Cypress Creek rd. I think it's closer to the airport but I want to live south of that. I'll be going to south beach during weekends and some night time as well. Got to enjoy miami as well.

ugh.......I lived in FL for over 10 years and I really hated it. Nothing but flat terrain, heat, humidity, and old people. I go to Cali all the time for work and I can tell you you'll miss it very quick.

Just a hop, skip and a jump from me........You'll probably be near I95.......Still a haul to South Beach.........I always stay the night there......by the time I'm passed-out, or done partying, it's too much to drive back........Keep in touch, Dave

Hey Dave,

Looks like you are norht of Cypress Creek, am I right? We def. need to get together so you can show me the area. I know some people in Florida but not a lot. Being Humid, that's fine with me, I hate the dry climate from Cali and I'm originally from brazil so i'm used to that climate.
