Maybe we can find a theater in Steamboat showing Star Wars to pass the time after we get there until Joe arives.

(JK, Joe - you'll be driving by laughing at all of us pulled over on the side of the road by the local law enforcement!)

Do we have any way to contact eachother if we have trouble getting to the meeting spot or are running late? Cell phones, pagers. ect..

I don't think it would be wise to publish our cell numbers here online, but is there some way we could share this information? Or perhaps just letting everyone know of a single person to contact if needed.

-Chris- (would hate for someone to be running just a few minutes late and miss us completely because they can not contact us)

You got it. That was actually TWO years ago, if you can believe that, and (ironically) is pretty close to the same route that we're taking this weekend.

Chris - I hear you. The unfortunate reality of something like this is that someone could get left behind if we're not expecting them to show or if they're not at the meeting place somewhere close to the meeting time. That's what I'm hoping to mitigate by having the list I published a few posts up of everyone we're expecting, so that we'll know if there's anyone to wait for. Also, I'm hoping that publishing the route will help any late-comers follow our tracks, and hopefully find us along the way.

I believe that Mudd collected an email list of those of us who were at the Rock Bottom meet, so that might be a safer way to trade cell phone numbers in a group communication, for those of us interested in that (it would at least be a lot better than posting them here, which I agree is not a good idea.)

Having a single point of contact might not be a bad idea, either. I would offer to do it, although I've just learned that I'm being taken out on Friday night for my birthday, and it's entirely possible that I won't be in a condition to drive that early the next morning. As a result, I could be late on Saturday and playing catch-up after the group leaves. I'll try not to miss the group, but I don't want everyone to wait for me, either.

I guess I'll volenteer for the "Point of Contact" person. I already have Blue_Pen's cell number. And as soon as you guys PM me, I'll PM back my cell number. I'll print out a couple lists of everyone that has indicated they'll go and give those out on Saturday.

Happy birthday Gary. I remember when I turned 21 too,
David

Default Late Entrance

Hi everyone,

I think I will be in, but won't be sure till Friday. Waiting on parts...

If 8 is the meeting time, and I don't show, not to worry. But I'll try to be on time just the same.

I too am brining the GF, but we gotta be back Sat night, the AMA nats are Sun down at PPIR, gotta make that ride. Maybe even see Craig there.

I'll post on Friday with the final answer, and probally get/gice a contact # for the morning. Just wanted to help with the headcount.

Untill then, always lookin' in the rear view!

It'll probably be 12:30 by the time we roll into Steamboat, and there aren't many places between here and there to stop earlier for lunch. You might want to bring a car-eatable (new word) snack, as that does seem like it would be a LONG time to go between breakfast and lunch!

It seems as if the GF may also be interested in staying the night in Steamboat..

For those of you planning on statying the night, have you priced out any hotels / motels?
How much $$ for a night?

Thanks,

Chris

Holy crap, I have Saturday off. I'll be there, but might not make the whole trip, I don't know yet, but I know that getting back by 8pm will probably be too late. That puts me back in the Springs by 9pm and I have parties to be at.

I most likely won't be able to make the whole trip either, as I have to be back in Denver around 6pm myself. So if anyone else needs an early 'wing man' for the return trip, I'm your guy.

Cheers!

BTW: Anyone else going to the AutoShow in Motion today?
