They take longer than most people are probably willing to spend doing a free upgrade for you. For something like springs (especially the fronts), you should just take it to a shop.

Don't you need to do an alignment after the install??

Yes; typically you want to give them a week or so to settle, and then go to a good alignment shop.

Gary: Springs are the difficult on the Z? I did my Evo springs in like 1 1/2 - 2hrs. I did have a buddy, lift, and air tools.

I didn't say it was a difficult install; I said that it's a lengthy one. The point being that a full spring replacement is a far cry from the blinky-sidemarker install that the OP was hoping to accomplish at this meet.

The rear springs are not that bad, but the front springs involve:

- removing the strut bar to access the upper shock mounts
- lossening/removing several suspension components to create enough space to remove the front shock/spring assembly
- removing the old spring from the OEM shock and putting the new one on
- repeat in reverse, then do the other side

All this bearing in mind that many of the bolts on the Z's front suspension were over-torqued at the factory by a 1,000 pound gorilla, and thus require some coercion to remove (the lower shock bolt is a particularly infamous one). That being said, a lift would be a HUGE advantage to this, as it is to most mod projects.

No problem. I wish the springs on this car were an easier install, as I'm considering changing my Nismo S-Tune out for something else.

Hurry back safe so you can get on that UTEC tune!

Kevin: What Teins did you go with? I had the H-Tech on my Evo and loved them. I wanted the S-Tech but heard they blow the struts (evo wise).
