Z Club track day
Just realized that I won't be able to make this one. I've got a prior obligation to go to the Air Force/Navy football game that day with the wife and her parents.
I mis-read Craig's initial post here (somehow) and thought that the track day was on Sunday the 8th, not Saturday the 7th. I'll hate missing this one.

Gary,
Don't be too hard on yourself. The original day was the 8th but it was chaged to the 7th when it also changed from PMI to CHP. You're not too senile yet. I'm sorry to hear you won't make it. We'll have to get together as the group has not done anything together since the tech day at your house. At least I haven't made it to anything. Maybe we should start now and shoot for a Xmas party. Think that would be enough notice?

I may be a little jet-lagged that weekend, but I'm signing up for the Oct. ZCCC CHP track day. Unfortunately, I won't be bringing the GT3 car out as the motor still won't be together by that point. But my Redline track model will be out there Saturday pounding around in the 'A' group.

Just got back from completing the tech inspection for the 7th. It's definitely a go! Sorry to hear about work- we definitely need to get you back out for a track day.
The track day is still on for Oct. 7th. At last count we had approx31 cars signed up. Hope to have some more come in on the day of the event. If you come be sure to bring water, food or snacks and something to sit on. The facilioties are the bare minimum. There are porta-potties and a little shade but that's about it. Colorado Mills is close by so there is gas and fast food there.
See my earlier post for the track registration form and a map to the track.
Hope to see a lot of you there!!

Hard to believe that with only six days to go, we have only three 350Z guys off this board signed up for this ZCCC track day! Rereading this thread it looks like only Bottom, ZZnotop and myself have actually entered. GaryM05 and Robert K can't make it and Jgrey and Bamyi are maybes (sure hope work doesn't get in the way for Bamyi this time)!
What's up with everybody else? We've had quite a few others attend a past HPDE or express interest in the past, so here's your chance for a LOCAL track day (with organized groupings and passing rules) at a reasonable price. Come run the facility where CHP and local police are trained at!
BTW- with all the work for Nissan Sport Magazine, I haven't had enough time (or $$) to finish prepping the GT3 Z for this event. So look for my Redline track model to be running with the so-called "expert" group on Saturday. I'll be evaluating Nitto's latest R-compound tire- the NT01- for a future issue of NSM.

Hello everyone, I'm a new member and I just discovered this Colorado thread, which is pretty cool. I live in Lakewood and own a 03 Touring 6speed (sunset le mans).
I'm interested in this track day, never done anything like this and wondered if I need anything special such as a helmet, or other clothing items? Also, how much does it cost to enter? Sorry, I can't seem to this info on the event website.
Thanks!

Welcome to the Board!
Check out the attachments that ZZ-notop posted somewhere on the first page. That should have all the information you're asking about. Basically, yes you need a helmet, long sleeve and long pants, and it's $60 for non z car club members or $50 for members.

It was a great day at the track! Sorry that more of you weren't able to make it, as we had more time to lap than most folks were able to use. Z's of every type, from S30s to Z33s were present, as well as assorted Caterhams, Porsches and many others. Lots of affordable fun, plenty of speed and close to the metro area. Throw in a casual atmosphere, sunny day and time with all my friends and you have a Saturday to savor!
Yeah, great time, such a fun day! BIG THANKS to http://www.zccc.org/ for organizing this event. Incredibly fun. I am hooked... I just wish there were more track day opportunities here in metro Denver. I cannot thank everyone I met there enough I learned so much I don't even know where to begin. One thing I can say for sure, I think I'm going to dump money into suspension and brakes before I do any performance mods. When you are on a track really pushing your Z you start to realize what a great car it is, and the true value of spending money like that is. Way too much fun, thanks again to everyone I met there!
BTW, special thanks Robert_K for pointing me to this msg board, I would have missed out on one helluva great time! Too bad you missed it, I would have liked to thank you personally.

Daniel took these. His '73 is getting a brake upgrade so he had time to take a lot of pics.
