Colorado Meet/Cruize
personally I-36 always and I mean always sucks. The only good way that I've found is hwy 72. You can either catch that at central city, or nederland which is just up canyon rd in boulder. But I may not even go on the cruise depending on my plans for Saturday, but I think hwy 72 would be a much better route for you guys to take unless you really just like to cruise as you're gonna get stuck in traffic I gurantee it
i have taken the hwy 72 through nederland which a very beautiful drive, it might take a little longer then i-36 though, my vote is hwy 72 through nederland, cause we have to stop for pictures along the way too!
If you guys want to avoid traffic, you should consider leaving earlier than 9:30. On previous drives, we found that being on the road no later than 8 or 8:15 made for a MUCH more enjoyable drive (less traffic, and more time on the road). The main problem with that is that it's an extremely early start for the Springs guys to make it to the meeting spot on time.
Not trying to tell anyone how to run this drive, since I can't make it, anyway...just passing along some friendly info that might make it more enjoyable.
On a positive note, you should get to see some awesome fall colors on this drive (could make for some great pics.) The wife and drove out 24 and 91 (Vail/Leadville/Copper) this past weekend and saw some spectacular scenery...no pics, unfortunately, as I was having too much fun driving to stop and admire the scenery. That's a route we should consider for a future Z-group drive...great scenery, lots of twisties, not much traffic, and lots of passing zones for dealing with traffic.

Gary, you were on 24/91 too? Wife and I went to Aspen for the weekend and yes, the views were spectacular around Leadville. Then the ones at Independence Pass were at a whole other level; absolutely breathtaking to say the least. I am going to post pics in the Pic Share section later today.

I'm looking forward to seeing your pics. I'll bet you were able to get some great ones.
Well the route we normally take is 93 through boulder (Broadway) out the back past the Bus Stop strip club then whatever that road is in. So D-dog you decide. Kevin, what will be you condition for this weekend, I know we talked about this a couple weekend ago and I was concerned of what you could do. Devildog, nice work on the Premier membership....(copycat-dog) J/K
Let's finalize this baby now.

lets all pray for good weather too! just saw the news and they are saying snow to down to 7000 feet on friday night! half the time they're wrong though so we'll only know the day before or day of, stupid colorado weather
Let's hope that is the case. We weren't so lucky on the way to Aspen on Saturday. It started snowing around 9k feet. By Eisenhower, it was pretty heavy. On Independence Pass as well, the >9k ft sections had snow, and the Continental Divide (12k ft) had a raging blizzard by the time we got there. The rest of it had bright sun and dry roads! We saw 3 seaons on one day.

I think it is SMART to have a backup plan. I suggested Dave and Busters, any other ideas? If it is cool/moisture, I wont go.....those conditions are not fun for drives. IDEAS!!!!!
