Ok, I know this lame. I bought a Nismo shift **** and now I need to install it. So I goto uninstall the old one, and damn that f'er is on there good! Eric at Boulder Nissan said to get under the shift boot and twist it from there, but I don't see where to twist from.... So anybody that has done this, got any hints???
get a towel and a pipe wrench. wrap the handle with the towel and apply the pipe wrench and turn like a *****. It is on good, but once you break the seal it will come right off.

I could be wrong, but I thought there was an allen screw somewhere that locked the **** in place. I haven't changed mine out, so let us know how it works when you're done.
I want to install it, but I have been really lazy lately. Boulder Nissan said they would help, but how lame would I be if I had the dealership install a shift ****!?!?!
Well I took your advise and mine is not coming off. It started to move, but it did not get any easier to get off. I took off the panel with the boot and look underneath and the rubber boot under the leather one is all turned around. I must be doing something wrong here cus everything i turning not just the ****! Is there a step before turning that is really obvious that I missed here?

Yes......you missed a step.
You were suppose to hold the shift under the leather in place with a pair of visegrips to keep it from turning and moving. I am pretty sure that you damaged something.
