Anybody know a good cheap powdercoating place in colorado? Im looking to get my enkei wheels done in full gloss black to be a little different. ANybody know around how much that woould cost?

I have used him for the suspension and wheels on my 240.

Also Woody Wheel Works. They do it all, real good price, short turn around time. Dont have a contact name though, if your looking for something more central. (I might have to give colorado powdercoating a ring)

 

Mark also does sandblasting.

When I had the wheels done for the 240 they ran $125 total for all 4. This was about 4 yrs ago, so I'm sure they have gone up.

Some wheels do not powder coat well. Cast aluminum, too much outgassing when they were heated up left bubbles. But mark can let you know if you bring the wheels around.

 

Another factor to consider before you powder coat your wheels black is safety and service life. Brake dust is also black and shows off stress cracks against a lighter colored (silver, gold, etc.) wheel. Otherwise the crack blends into the black paint and the wheel keeps getting used until it breaks.

I usually clean and inspect the wheel around the spoke area; this is where they are more suseptible to fatigue and/or damage. I've had racing wheels that looked OK until you looked at them closely. Most stress cracks are a sign that the wheel has exceeded its useful life. It's less expensive to toss a damaged wheel, rather than have it trash your Z.

powder coat them white then. bet you no one will have that combination. :-D

 

ha ha yea, if i had a ppw z i would powdercoat them fluorescent green, i saw a sick skyline that was white with green rims, very nice. If i had the money id buy the volk time attacks but i dont so ohh well.

 

Woody's wheel works...they are THE best I've ever seen, hands down. They re-did my Iforged Aero's, repaired, and resealed them. Perfect job.
