Well I first majored in Physics, but finished up in Mechanical Engineering. When I was searching for a job, I kept an eye out for anything Physics related and honestly I'm glad I switched up to Engineering. Anyways, have him check out Ball Aerospace or Lockhead Martin Websites. I know that they are always looking for Physics guys and they have a good search engine for their local jobs.
