Default Bandimere Test n Tune Roll call...

Just curious who all is going to the Bandimere Test n Tune this weekend? I doubt I'll run, but I might go to watch. I am happy with my 14.5 at PMI a couple of weeks ago, so I doubt I'll run again until I get another mod.

I will be going on Sunday providing I get some more break in miles.

Dante, give me some tips on how you were launching and what tactic was most successful for you. I realize you were racing at that ******** of a track, but I am sure you found a decent way to lauch the car and where to shift.

Let me know.

Default launching

Well, besides from having to use my e-brake from rolling backwards on the launch pad at PMI (no joke), I got the RPMs up to 3000 and feathered the clutch and that seemed to work best. I also tried dumping the clutch at 2, 2.5 and 3, but feathering the clutch at 3K got me my best 60 ft time of 2.2. The other times were around 2.3 and my worst was 2.4. For my next mod, I am thinking about getting some 255's for the rear.

Brian -- did you race? I had some friends that were up at Bandi for Test n Tune. They mentioned that they saw a 350z do a 15.3. Was that you? What were all of your times (60 foot, 330, MPH, etc)?

Dante.....the answers to your questions are as follows.
Yes I went up on Sunday with barely 1100 miles on the engine, I would have liked to have had more miles, but due to my schedule, I had to go on Sunday to get some practice, the season is only 1 1/2 weeks away. My times sucked in my opinion and should get better with some more practice as every run I make right now is an experiment. I have found that launching the Z is a very tricky endeavor, and takes alot of practice and skill. My times are as follows:

Run # 1

R/T - .135
60' - 2.581
330' - 6.914
1/8 -10.502
M.P.H. - 69.97
1000' - 13.526
1/4 - 16.068
MPH - 90.09

Run # 2

R/T - .116
60' - 2.450
330' - 6.740
1/8 - 10.294
M.P.H. - 70.76
1000' - 13.318
1/4 - 15.86
MPH - 90.07

Run # 3

R/T - .026
60' - 2.340
330' - 6.580
1/8 -10.146
M.P.H. -70.09
1000' - 13.140
1/4 - 15.652
MPH - 91.04

Run # 4

R/T - .059
60' - 2.312
330' - 6.518
1/8 -10.050
M.P.H. -70.62
1000' - 13.038
1/4 - 15.555
MPH - 90.86

Run # 5

R/T - .095
60' - 2.374
330' - 6.608
1/8 - 10.151
M.P.H. - 70.38
1000' - 13.138
1/4 - 15.648
MPH - 91.05

Run # 6

R/T - .022
60' - 2.319
330' - 6.482
1/8 - 9.958
M.P.H. -71.63
1000' - 12.905
1/4 - 15.383
MPH - 92.21

They have switched to the new LED style tree @ Bandimere, so a perfect reaction time now is .000 As you can see, all the 60' times are terrible, and need to be much better. I won't go into what all I was trying when I launched the car as I could go on and on forever. Next Weds night I am going to the last Test night before the season starts to get some more practice, we'll see what happens then.

Dante......you need to get me hooked up with the guy down there in the Springs, my Z really needs some help. What have you found out from him, I haven't heard from you in a week or so to see if you chatted with him. I would like to get something done by the time the race season starts if possible, please let me know ASAP.

And last but not least, if anyone would like to join me @ Bandimere next Weds. night, or anytime this season for that matter, please let me know and we can meet up. I would love to show people who have not been to a 1/4 mile facility before what you can do and how to do it.

Was there another 350z there? I heard that a 19 year old girl was there running a 350z??

You car is only going to get faster. My car was noticeably faster at 2500 miles than it was at 1200. Try to get some miles on that sucker!

Last Friday, my friend didn't show up at the meet . I am taking my car in next week to have them look at my tranny. My 3rd gear is grinding a lot. I'll talk to him then I am sure.

Yes Dante there was this Hottie there on Sat. I wasn't there but I heard from friends she was there. I have met her before at some other meets with people I race with, and let me tell you that this girl is hot. Very attractive, and very young. She's a daddy's girl, driving daddys present to her.

Let me know as soon as you talk to the guy. I talked to the service people at John Elway Nissan up here tonight, as I was at there new car clinic and they said they had no idea what I was talking about. I asked that to there service director, manager, master tech and a technician that I met and all of them shrugged their shoulders............Idiots!

I would definately be interested in checking out the 1/4 mile track sometime. I am enjoying AutoX quite a bit, but have nothing against something new as well. Will have to give you a call sometime soon Brian.

Daryl,

Just let me know when you are ready to go up and we will have some fun. I know you will have a great time once you get the hang of launching the car. Just let me know and keep in touch.
