May - Open
June 13-15 - Miller Motorsports Park
July 12-13 - Pueblo Motorsports Park

Oh, I know! I am looking forward to it, although I will certainly miss the friends I made here.
Buttonwillow, and Willow Springs are also within driving distance, and NASA SoCal does events there.

I'd like to commit to the date, but I really don't think that it's likely that I'll be able to make it there in early Feb. The street I live on has been covered with snow and ice for two weeks and I don't have any plans for buying any all season or winter tires this year.
I was jonsin for a drive in the Z last week, after not driving it for two weeks, so I backed her down my driveway and proceeded in the general direction of my work. I got two houses from home before I turned around and headed back...right after my car slid slowly but resolutely across the snowy and icy street, coming to a gentle stop at the curb in front of my neighbor's house. It took me 15 minutes to get the car turned around and safely back in the garage.
Those Bridgestone Potenzas are nice and grippy in the summer, but they behave more like skates then tires on the snow/ice.
If we have a particularly warm and sunny stretch of weather toward the end of January, I might be able to get the Z down to Pueblo on Feb. 2nd -- but I wouldn't bet on it.
Maybe next winter I'll pick up some snow tires...

It's Thursday and snowing to beat the band this morning! Let's hope we get into another weather pattern before the end of next month...
Perhaps I should be instructing a snow survival course with Zs.

Well, I'm the first loser to bail, and hopefully the only one. Don't hate me, though- it's for a great opportunity:

I'm going to be attending a seminar on vehicle dynamics and data acquisition that is being put on by one of the foremost engineers on the subject, Claude Rouelle. Normally this is a several hundred dollar event for a three day lecture, but he is giving a four day session for free (minus the cost of some materials) to CSU engineering students. I'm invited, and it's a great opportunity that happens to fall on our track day.
Sorry guys, I'd have more fun at the track for sure, but this experience is rare and I'm going to go attend. Hopefully, the track day goes on as scheduled and I'm sure you guys will have a blast, as always. I wish this seminar would be on any other weekend. I'll try and resist praying for snow that Saturday so that the track day is rescheduled to another weekend that I can attend
Will
edit: If I'm the 10th man out in this when it comes time, then I'll still pay my share so the track day isn't cancelled on my behalf.

Sorry Will that you can't make it to the track day, but you said it yourself, you find more pleasures in the dymaics of the car then acutally driving the car. And, once you learn more from this class, I'm sure you'll enjoy driving the Z more and get most of us even more confuse.

Sorry to hear that Resolute won't be joining us. I've also attended one of Mr Rouelle's classes on data acquistion and vehicle setup. He has a wealth of knowledge and I can't recommend him enough. His company-Optimum G- is located in the metro area and is a great resource.
Since it's the new year, let's hope we get a few more sign-ups on this event. In the coming week, I'll post a new thread detailing the syllabus for this class and details on getting deposits in.

David: if we are hurting for people, we could probably get plenty more by advertising on the NASA Rocky Mountain forums; that might get us too many, and it wouldn't be VQ35's, but it might be worth it.
If your ok with it, the guy with the Red Audi A4 who did the last nasa instruction day would be real intrested in coming out if we open it up. If you need more people throw him on the list.

I'm still hoping more Colorado G/Z pilots will take advantage of this. You know there's going to be threads about a lack of track days in our area AFTER this! I'm sure we can get other marques involved to fill out our numbers, but let's give those new 350Z/G35 drivers every opportunity.
