Default Go Kart Racing?

Anyone know of someplace that has some sort of organized racing for go-karts? I want to get involved so I can get my son into it early. I am in Colorado Springs, and I am sure there is something somewhere close to here, just cant find anything? Any input and or help would be greatly appreciated!

There's a track out by Falcon. Or at least there used to be. I forget the name, but I'd imagine they're in the Yellow Pages.

Hook into:

WKA - World Karting Association. 65 annual membership fee and I think each weekend class event is 75 bucks for entrance. pit pass is 15 a weekend at most tracks as well. vendors at the track. highly organized and national competitive classes http://www.worldkarting.com/

go to thier boards and they probably have links to regional clubs you can link up with. costs are generally about the same, and any hosted weekend by WKA you have to have a WKA membership to race in if it happens.

WKC - Woodbridge kart Club. who I race with (affiliated with WKA). they are an eastern seaboard club. from Daytona to VIR to Summit, Shenandoah and Mid Ohio. http://www.worldkarting.com/

Good luck, karting is a blast!

Motormouth, thanks for the input. I knew I couldnt just show up and race. I was on the WKA website over the weekend and couldnt find any links to local clubs or anything. We did subscribe to the WKA magazine though, so hopefully there will be info in the magazine for a local club. Any more info you may have would be helpful. Maybe someone in your club knows where I can find more info. Thanks again for the info!

There's also a small oval at PMI in Pueblo. It's a hoot seeing those kids go round and round. The parents are very dedicated too. Some have very elaborate setups for hauling the karts to maintenance and even sponsors as I recall.

Ed, yes I did. I was offered a job and couldnt pass on th opportunity, besides SoCal is way to expensive. I am in Colorado Springs now. Hopefully, this will make things easier on the family and I can get my son into Karting early!!!!! When I am back down that way I will let you know and we can get together.
