Husband and I are contemplating a long drive in early May. He wants to drive down I-5 and take a left, and drive as much of the old Route 66 as is reasonable. Fine. We have two four-wheeled vehicles: the Z and a Subaru Outback. We'd both love to take the Z (it just seems right, somehow)... in spite of the fact that it doesn't have cruise control... but we don't want to beat the crap out of it either. If the roads are chunky, the Subaru would be the far better choice.
