BTW, I found this...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=50457

I'm waiting for a response to an e-mail, since they have no feedback on eBay. I am also trying to get a phone number and address for them, perhaps they are a shop or something. I'll let you know.

Let me know what you find out about the places in Tucson. I just ordered the car yesterday so it won't be in for another 90 days or so. If they are willing to work a deal with two cars that would be great. I could give them a deposite for the second job until my car comes in to let them know I'm serious. That's one of the first things I want to have done to my car with the rocks out here so I am giving some serious consideration to driving it straight there from the dealership when I pick up the car. As far as the link of Ebay, I read from a couple other members that $500 is about the going price I just don't know if that was with or without installation.

Matt,

Spoke w/James over at ATD, and it sounds like it will be a fairly decent price. Between $150 to $250 installed, for the bumper, hood, fenders and mirrors. I am going to try and swing by their shop and get a firm price. They are also a mobile service so, you could scheduele it with them to go to the dealership and install the kit. They do not require a deposit, and they don't use the kits. They have a roll of the material and recommend using that, versus the kits. They have a 3yr warranty on labor, and if I recall a 5yr warranty on it not "yellowing". I will try and swing by there today, and then go from there.

Did you talk to Rod when you ordered your Z? If not, how'd it go?

Unfortunately, I was already past the point of talking to Rod. I was originally planning on buying the Z a year from now. Three weeks ago the transmission went out in my old car which was a Chrysler Sebring. The estimate to fix the transmission and a few other things was $3,700 and the blue book on the car was $6,500. I was pretty hesitant about sinking that much money in the car - especially for only a year more. I started with Jim Click and they wouldn't give me anything for an as-is trade in so I went to Thoroughbread. They offered me $3,200 for my car which I though was fair considering what was wrong with it so I took it.

I had no problem taking an 04 but spending that much money on a Roadster I wanted it to have everything I wanted including the NAV system. They did a search and couldn't find any at other dealerships but found 3 that were on trucks enroute to the dealerships. They told me they were going to work a dealer trade for the car and should be able to get one. The first one sold before it even got to the dealership, the second one sold the first day it got to the dealership as they were trying to get it and the third ended up in Austin, Texas. They quoted me $1,200 to get the one in Austin and I would have to pay for that. The other option they offered me was the same price over invoice (which was $700 over invoice) for a 2005 but it would take 90 days to come in. I am in the military here and leaving next week for 70 days so that worked out kind of well. I figure resale wise that should work out for me a little bit better in the end and hopefully Nissan will have this tire feathering issue fixed on the 2005's.

We made a deal last week where I went ahead and signed over the title of my car to them last week and they credited that amount towards the new car when it comes in. It worked out good for both of us because they can fix it and make their money and I can take it off my insurance for 3 months until the new one comes in. Being that I already did that, I was kind of stuck talking to anyone else about prices.

So that's my crazy story. If all works out well and the sun and the moon align, I should have my new Roadster in 90 days which will be a couple weeks after I get home. Sorry for the long story!

Matt, sounds like you got a good deal. Kind of wish I ponied up for the NAV system, as that would be nice... What color did you end up getting?

Good luckin your deployment... and make sure you post some pictures when she comes in.

I ended up going with the Silverstone exterior, charcoal interior and the burnt orange ventilates seats which are orange and black. The interior was too black otherwise so I hope the seats weren't too extreme of a choice!

Drool

Sounds awesome. I am going to go meet up with ATD tomorrow about the clear bra and get an idea on cost. I am going to go w/the full 24" up the hood, to try and give as much protection as I can, as well as front bumper, fenders and mirrors. I'll let you know of a price. I am getting the windows tinted Saturday, so I am well on my way.

Sweet. I will probably go with the the full as well on the bra just because I know how may paint chips I had on my last car that was half the price. Let me know when you get a price!

Well I have some bad news... Talked w/Charles (assuming the owner of ATD) and he told me that the material itself would be between $150 to $200, and installed would be between $400 and $600 depending on time and what not. But $600 would be the max price regardless of how long it took. So... that's where we are at. It's going to take me about two weeks or so to get the cash ready, but as soon as I do I'll be getting it done. The material is pretty nice, and you can't even tell it's there. You only see an edge, it'll be nice on the PPW, I'm wondering about the Silverstone. Let me know what you think.

Well I saw posts from other people that they were paying about $500 so I guess that's not too bad. It is a lot of money but in the long run I think it's worth the money. The only thing that is concerning me is some of the other posts I have been reading about how bad the paint is holding up on the cars. People with less then 10K miles driving on great roads are complaining about their paint chipping all over the place and just flaking off. When they take it back to Nissan for warranty they are refusing to cover it and calling it damage from rocks, ect. A lot of people are saying the paint is made really thin and there in not enough clear coat. I am still going to go with the clear bra but wonder what a paint shop would charge to add another layer of clear coat?
