Is everyone still meeting at Carls?

The meet place is still at Carl's Jr. Everyone should try and meet around 6:30am to 6:45am, get your snacks in and we will head out to California Speedway at 7:00am. We still have one more day for any last minute changes to the location, but I think we shouhld be okay at Carl's............

 

il be going aswell. except i was invited by the s2ki people. im glad some 350s are going. cause id much rather go with them im leaving torrance at 6am so il be there by 6:45. at which point we should head to the track

Also, for any newbies to the track, make sure you take pants, car reg. and proof of insurance. Make sure you seat belts are working and you have all your lugnuts (yes, I know that sounds dumb, but you'll be surprised!). Not to mention, if you're on juice, make sure you have a blow-down tube.

Check list:

1. Wear long pants/jeans. You will not be able to drag with shorts. There is a K-Mart you can shop at near the freeway if your forget long pants.

2. Bring a helmet if you go or expect to be faster than 14's.

3. Car registration.

4. Proof of insurance.

5. A tire air pump.

6. Check your lugnuts and seatbelt.

7. Those nice blue racing tape if you don't like scratches.

8. Bring a seat (If it even fits in the Z).

9. Camera and your video equipment. (Optional)

10. You should bring cash. (U.S. Currency ONLY)

 

I hope you guys got in. N10ZT and I showed up way late around 930 and the tech cards were sold out.

They are open again tomorrow though.

 

I showed up a little late as well. Got there around 7:45 or so. They were all sold out. Man what a waste of time. Im gonna try again tommorrow. I gotta show up extra early. There were so many cars out there today. Post up your times guys.

 

I wasn't able to get in either (thanks to one of my friends being late). I saw a couple other Z's parked in the parking lot, but have no clue who they were.

I was able to meet up with Nastyboy, he was the only one able to run on the track.

How do you guys know that the track is open on Sunday??? California Speedway schdule only has Saturday listed.

Is it the same opening time, too ??

One of the ladies working the lot said it's open again tomorrow. She said be in line across the street by 6am.

 

I been asking around, and it is the autocross event at lot 11. Also, the gates open at 7am and line starts at 6am.

Were you planning to autocross, Han? I know I'll suck pretty bad at this event .

 

Nope, it's a regional event not an open practice session. My brothers friends campaign a 2nd gen Integra so I might go watch.

If you were left out, I can see how it sux. But if you were lucky enough to get in, then it doesn't suck, as you don't want everyone and their mom to be allowed in, that means you would have to wait longer to run again.

I did see FLZ_Boy and someone else (sorry, forgot your name). I was having problems all day long!!!!!

My worst run, which was obviously my first run was a 14.1 @ 100mph, I had mechanical problems. I had to call the shop and get one of my mechanics stop by the pit, took us a bit over 3 hours to fix that problem. I regained myself at 13.0 @ 109, then I had tranny problems and ended with a 14.0 @108mph. What a day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought I was gonna finally hit the 12's!!!!!!!! What a bummer! So close but yet soooo far!!!!!!!!!!!!!!


Ohh well, I guess I'll work on my car when I get some free time.

 

Ahh, I almost forgot to mention.

It gets better. I managed to somehow crack my CRAWFORD intake plenum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't ask me how. After my first run I popped opened my hood, and bam, there it was, a big freakin' crack!
