Performance Nissan Could Be In Trouble Jeff Where Are You?

Just getting on the forums and ranting without exhausting all the avenues of redress does little to handle the problem.
Ron, you didnt read my post above... And Jeff was actually pleased that I made this public as he feels that the service team is lacking the skills to accomomade the customers. This is just more proof that performance needs to weed out the bad apples and hire the adequate team to handle professional situations not take advantage of people...
As for Performance, and tranny
problems, Performance have handled more warrantee issues than any other dealer around, Many forum members will attest to that, most dealers just pass it off, as thats the way it is.
As for someone at Performance wanting to "joyride in your car", I doubt that.
Ron, I don't want to get in an argument with you. I spoke with JEFF (READ ABOVE POST) He said and strongly feels I didnt over react, and handled the situation correclty, EVEN MAKING IT PUBLIC. Maybe you let people take advantage of you, but letting someone take my car home is ********!! Specially when they are not even a certified tech... If that was the case why dont we let just let JD take every Fcking car home so that he can testify their is a problem.. Your argument on this topic is poor, I can see if the Service manager wanted to take my car home.. That would be a little more valid, but why is JD's words more valid than the customer (myself). Jeff, agrees this is a TSB item and shouldnt even be questioned. Im sure perfomance nissan has done a lot for you and you felt you needed to aid them on their worst performance. Which is fine and I admire your loyalty to them, but please dont post foolish reply's giving them credit or because " they have handled more warrantee issues than any other dealer". This doesn't make them superior to any other dealership as all dealerships have certified techs. Performance Nissan is who they are because of Jeff, Jason, And Jenny. You and I know that, so instead of giving performance Nissan so much credit I give those 3 people the most, because without them they wouldn't be looked upon such a great company and have a high reputation, performance needs to thank them... Remember one thing and this apply's to EVERYONE... Its not the company that makes a reputation, its the employees involved. Your a cool person Ron, but your opinion was totally biased. I also do business with them on a Business to Business level and I will not tolerate this kind of action. What I did was not wrong, and again appreciate that their are still professional people handling my situation like Jeff
I suggest you take a test ride with the tech until the problem accures, 60 miles if need be.

Alright.... well, seems the powers to be have heard you all and changes are being made as I write. First off, JD is being fired today. A meeting with ALL the remaining Service Advisors, Managers, GM and owner has been scheduled for tomorrow morning at 6:00am. We will discuss some of the stuff brought up here, but most of all.... how to fix it. Parts will be assigned a Tech to work full time for our customers only. This way we will have a high quality person who cares more about Performance and satisfaction of the customer, than tune ups and flat rate times. We will make this better. Also I will post up a list of contacts at the dealer to assist anyone who needs it. I've also got a voice mail system working on my company phone now so I don't miss your calls. The management of this store really does want this to work and the Dealer to grow. Your feedback has been a big help in launching this and we will fix it. Maybe we should have addressed this long ago, and for that I am truly sorry. Anybody on this Forum please feel free to contact any of the people below.

Thats understandable, but because people voice their opinion it changes a companies motives. Read Jeff's post above, if it wasnt because I voiced my opinion the company probably would be going in the wrong direction. Sometimes it takes a slap in the face to realize that your screwing up. I support my friends too, I feel Jeff, Jason, and jenny are friends of mine. And I never have said anything but positive things about them, they work for performance nissan and that's it. I too will support my friends to death, and wherever they go I will follow. But unless JD is "your friend" than really you had no hard data to be defending them when they are 100% in the wrong. I have got a phone call from the the service manager apologizing for this. I feel my post will only make Performance Nissan a better company and will strongly interview their new employee's to come so that these kind of mistakes wont arise later in the future. You and I think different, but this was more of a positive turnout than a negative one than what you make it seem. I think everyone should voice their opinion specially when they feel they are getting abused. I could of been a real DICK, you don't know how nasty I can get. Will I do business again with Performance Nissan? MOST CERTAINLY!! They have showed that they will do what it takes to maintain an ELITE status, even if it takes someone losing their job for not following directions. This type of behavior should not be tolerated and because I am a friend of them, I will let them know. Maybe you don't see my point of view, and it could be hard to understand it. But if I care about someone I will let them know whats going on. Performance Nissan in my opinion will just be a stronger company with only professional people working to better help YOU. And maybe you should thank me instead of questioning my prerogative (damn I sound like britney spears) I think I just help make them a better place for future business transactions to our fellow Z members. And I am happy to say I will visit them for future needs as I know I will get treated with the upmost respect and professionalism because I can almost assure you this wont be happening again.
Good Day sir!

To everybody involved in this thread (and especially to Jeff),
I am glad that there is action being taken to correct the problems at Performance. I didnt mean to come across as strong as I obviously sounded in my first post (upon review of my post). As I was reading the thread starters post, I started to think of my experience at Performance and decided to chime in my feelings on it. I still do hold the same position, but am very glad to see action being taken to keep the community happy. There are many guys on this forum who have had nothing but praise for Performance as being a "mod friendly" dealership, and the few who did not have a good experience like myself (there will always be a few) should not overshadow the praise otherwise given.
My applogies to anyone who was offended by my previous comments. I have nothing but love for the Z community.

just want to said what "Wicked4u2c" did is correct, and we as customer should keep monitor how service was done by the dealerships. After all, it's our money, and our cars.
what JD did is intolerable, anyone who have worked in dealerships know, it is against the rules to even thinking about taking customer's car home. Good job taking care of this issue, Jeff.

I do think bringing this to a public forum is a good thing, for both wiked and performance. No dealership is perfect. There will always be guys like JD who slip by. Because this was brought up, people were fired, meetings were called, and info became availible to the public because Performance is trying to be the best dealership possible.
Well, I for one am impressed even surprised by the actions taken and even more by the speed at which they were taken. I was going to chime in earlier that dealers are all the same just after the your wallet but it is nice to see that at least one is trying to break the mold, kudos.
Geesss cant we all just get along !
i have my car worked on at performance they did a great job
i have never had any problems with any one there
its to bad something like this had to happen but i belive that this problem will not keep me from going there for future service (parts or any problems i have)
i think jeff, jason, and jenny are the best and will always go out of there way to help people even if they dont owen a Z

I am also someone who enjoys working on my Z. But when I need ANY warranty work done or any parts installed, Performance is the ONLY place I will go. Jeff has always made right on any problem and is quick to take action. That is why I drive 16 hours round trip from Reno to let there guys work on my car.
I've had my share of problems with service there too.
Visit 1 - Went in for:
tranny grinding [Not fixed]
axle creaking [Fixed...but]
window roll-down issue [Not fixed]
Got car back with axle creaking fixed, but the rear tires were on wrong!! Reversed left/right. Didn't make a stink, just fixed it myself. Within the next day, the window problem came back.
Visit 2 -
Window roll-down issue [Not fixed]
Rattling rear-view mirror [Not fixed]
Tranny #2 grinding again [??]
As I was picking up the car Javier assured me that this time they replaced the module that controls the window and that I wouldn't have the problem. Oh yeah? Problem returned next morning.
They told me they'd order tranny #3 for me and contact me when it arrives, but didn't hear from them for over a month. Called about it, got passed around, and then finally spoke to "Jay" yesterday that said he'd find out and call me back. Called me back later to say he's still trying to find out, and haven't heard from him since.
I left out a lot more, like the fact that I paid to get new spark plugs and my intake tube wasn't put back on correctly; I was told I got an alignment done but I never got it (and my new tires got feathered); etc.
Normally I don't like making a stink about these things -- but if there's restructuring going on to correct these types of things (hopefully), then this data may be of help.
In the meantime, i've got a rattling mirror, a window that doesn't stay up, and a grinding tranny with bad syncros (sometimes doesn't even go into reverse).
Performance PARTS is awesome. Never had a problem and have always been taken care of by Jason or Jeff with good deals and excellent customer service. Performance's SERVICE dept has been nothing but trouble, but sounds like Jeff is on it and will revive the reputation.

took my car to Performance Nissan three times over the past 2 years. (I live in San Diego). The parts guy are awesome, but some of the service advisors are complete tools (or new at the job). In one instance, it took the service advisor and his manager about 20mins to figure out how to enter "oil change" on the work order.
Since I have access to 4post lifts at the local autohobby shop, I do all my own basic maintenances. (Cheaper and done right). However, I still all my parts from mynismo.com

Wow, seems like other people has service problems just like 10 years ago, when 300ZX came out. I recalled that there was a letter send in to Automobile magazine at the time saying that, maybe Nissan should import their techs from Japan for the Z. At the time I didn't believed it that much, but judging from what I have heard and read, I guess maybe that is what Nissan should do.
I have Z and Infiniti G20, and honestly, although my G20 cost alot cheaper than my Z, the service I received from Infiniti dealers is 10 times better, not to mention their techs and service advisors are alot more friendly and very willing to work with you.
Anyway, I still think WICK4U2C is doing the right thing for post his problem here. And I also think Jeff is really professional, and just because what he did, I think many people are still willing to visit Performance Nissan.
BTW, WICK4U2C, is there any reason that you don't go to Buena Park Nissan for Service???? I know their sales team are screwed up, but how's their service???? Cuz I will imaging it's alot more closer to you than Performance Nissan
