Default Almost got hit

Almost got hit tonight by a dumb$$ suv.

I just left work at 7:45 (work area is mostly hills and industrialize buildings with no cars). After making a stop, I made a right turn going up the hill. From nowhere a SUV came up speeding. Remember the road was hilly and curvy so I could not see him too far away as he speeds up.

My initialize thought was holly ****. I stomp on the gas and thinking this dic$ is not going to stop.

He then switched to the outer lane thinking once he passed me, he would change to the innner lane again. Guess what, our Zs are dam quick too. I was next to him in his blind spot as he changed to my lane.

I did not have time to honk his a$$, so i pulled to the right with a couple of inches of hitting the curb.

I was lucky, if he had hit me, the car would be on the curb and he would be no where insight..

Sorry just have to vent!!!

Tony

The SUV drivers day is numbered, only so far you can get away with reckless driving.

Just take a deep breath and the whole incident will vanish in thin air.

Of course, I have days I still remember those close calls. Best to not think of it.

FLZ_Boy, glad you made it through unscathed. While we're on the subject of close calls, let me share my story from a couple weeks ago.

It was 8:00-ish Friday night and I was going 70+ on 55 Northbound. I was in the fast lane and the freeway was pretty empty, which is unusual for a Friday night. I noticed that there was a white SUV that I was coming up against in the next lane to my right. As I'm about to pass it, I see this dark-colored large object the size of loveseat or a coach tumble onto the road literally about 20-25 feet from the nose of my car. For all I know it could have been a washing machine. It happened so fast I could only make out the outline of it. The SUV hits it head on pretty hard and the impact pushed it even faster towards my lane. The SUV doesn't even flinch - doesn't brake, swerve or anything. There must have been another truck or something on the other side of the SUV that this thing fell off of, but I never saw where the F'in thing came from.

Anyway, there was no time to think (or crap your pants). I guess my driving instinct was to swerve to the left into the carpool lane, which I did fast as I could. Thank god there was no one in the carpool lane and the Z is lightning fast when it comes to lane changes, so I got through this one without hitting anything, but let me tell ya, IT WAS CLOSE.

After I passed it, I look in my rear view mirror and see the driver behind me by bout 500' do the same thing, but obviously he had more time to react. But let me tell you, if I had been in an SUV instead, I would have been creamed, just like the other guy.

I think it was tractng that had the close call.

Yesterday, I did see someone else have a close call. He was driving the same UY color Z I was too. The guy made 2 quick lane changes on the freeway back and forth and spun out. I pulled up to him and said "That's some crazy s#$%." I'm sure he learned real fast not to do abrut lane changes (Seems kinda funny when another UY Z come up to him and say that ).

That whole incident start to make me think if my Z can easily spin out.

Glad to hear that you came out of it OK. I agree that there are a lot of SUV drivers that don't know WTF they are doing. I'm not one of them. I drive a Sequoia SUV when I'm not driving my Z and I make sure to drive more carefully, especially when changing lanes on the freeway.

glad you made it out ok tractng. i've had several incidents with suv's almost running me over and i've only had my Z for a couple months. if it wasn't for the fact that our Z's are quick, handle great, and no one being in the lane next to me. I would probably be in bad shape...
