Anyone know a good wheel repair place to fix a bent wheel?
I was driving to work in the rain this morning in Socal in my S4. It has been raining extremely hard for the past several days. After making a usual left turn, I suddenly see a brand new pothole about 1 foot deep in the middle street. I tried to dodge it but too late, the left front rim hit it and made a loud clunk!! The BBS LM is supposedly a very strong wheel, but as you can see, it was no match for the deep pothole!! I will also need a new tire.
Anyone know whether this can be repaired? Or is it better that I just get a new wheel. Any suggestion for a good wheel repair facility in or around Los Angeles? I heard of Tru wheels. Thanks!!

ouch...
so much for forged wheels (j/k), my volks have held up well to some 'off road/track excursions'
I say you keep it, get a new one. Since its a forged wheel, the weight of the wheel is rotationally balanced. I'm not sure how they'll repair it, bend it back in place?
I have some minimal lip damage on my volks, i'm deciding to live with it though...
They'll have to experiment with the bolts though. I doubt bbs releases the torque specs.

i know this first hand.... (it might take a while) but there is a place in Atlanta that is AWESOME!!! my brother ran his 93 prelude off the road back in the day and cracked the 2 front rims and pretty much v'd the rear 2 rims..... he sent his rims to rennsport and they fixed it up perfectly.

I have the same problem... almost exact same kind of dent in the lip of my volk TE37 and everyone has told me to go to truwheel. unfortunately, I don't have my stock wheels anymore to switch out so I can't drop off the rim at the shop for the week or so it'll take to fix the dent. anyone wanna lend me their stock 17's for a week or two??? LOL.

yeah, I could probably be disciplined on the spare, but 10 days is a long time to ride on that donut even being careful. I'd rather just swap them out for some stocks while I wait for the wheel to be repaired. hey, gt3 do you mind if I ask how much truwheel quoted you for the price?
I suppose all the rain and potholes are giving TruWheel along with other wheel repair shops unusually high volume of business. At non busy time, they most likely will have a 3~4 day turn around but if they are busy, 10 days is understandable.
I went to Tru Wheel to check out the finished product. Given their good reputation, I was disappointed to find that the wheel was not repaired well at all!!
Apparently they had to do some welding but I can easily see where the repair was done. The surface where the welding was done (about 3 inches long) not only had fine scratches but was all bumpy. It seemed like they just roughly sanded the welding area and repolished it. They told me this is the best they can do!! I refused to take the wheel because they originally told me it would be 99% of the original. The wheel was 60-70% fixed IMO. Maybe they got too busy and rushed the job. Hopefully their second attempt would be better or it's time for me to look into buying another wheel.

Don't drive the spare for too long because it is not meant for high speed or long distances.
It may be more feasible in the long run to just bite the bullet and buy a new wheel. You may even be able to sell the bent one and keep the tire.
