I guess thats one way I'll know if the stock 17"s (24lbs rims + 25lbs of rubber)are really a factor in creating a higher than normal output for my Z.

I don't know if I will have made enough changes to the car to warrant another dyno, but I like the idea of dynoing at Church again. Shawn's very careful about conducting his runs with the same coolant temp, so we should get good numbers to compare.

We just have to remember that the dynopack reads higher absolute numbers. But if you compare your numbers with a bunch of other G35/350Zs on that day, you'll know how your car is doing. We could go to a dyno where everyone gets 1000 WHP, and feel great, but it won't mean anything in itself.

Incidentally, the last time I was at Church automotive, the car was getting about 270s HP, and it got 248 on the dynojet a few weekends ago.

Yes, i agree that the next one should be conducted at Church's. I heard that they control the environment of the dyno really well

hey guys, this sounds interesting, but i have only plenum and gutted cats, is it even worth it just to dyno and see where im at? reason i ask is because im thinking i have a pretty bad case of oil consumption and oil consumption can effect car performance. so i need to see how serious the problem is. so if its like $50 for 3 runs to find out where i stand, its worth it to me. what do u guys think? thanks

dchi t,
For $50 you almost cant go wrong.

All,
I'll see if anyone from the G35 board will be interested. Mabey we can reach critical mass and get something started.

Anybody have a cast plenum they would like to do comparative testing on? ;-)
