Feeler: Future Plan for a Dyno Day for group pricing
Hey all,
The members on here just completed a Dyno day this past weekend with great success, so I think we should set something up in the near future for those that:
A: Missed out
B: Plan on working out the "bugs" from previous dynos
C: Want to see what their new mods will do
D: Test out hydrazine's plenum spacer!
Here are some details on what was setup last weekend
TYPE OF DYNO:
DYNOJET
PRICING:
<10 people = $75/3 runs
>10 people = $50/3 runs

The previous one was in January and I think 2 months in between dynos is good. My vote would be for mid to late May. I'm not sure if Steve @ Powertrain Dynamics would be up for doing one again so soon.

Steve mentioned that he makes more on a weekday than on a Saturday dyno day. (Remember, he's doing this on a discount.) Having to dyno a bunch of cars takes a lot of manual labor and I'm pretty sure he was tired at the end of the day. (a weekend day, nonetheless) I think everyone appreciates all the work he does, though.
I can't speak for Steve, so feel free to ask him. I'm not trying to discourage you. As for me, I'm down to go again after mid May.

Come on guys, get real......the dude made $50x15 cars (roughly) which is $750, ALL IN CASH!! Anyone who complains about that for a few hours of work has a problem. I wish I had a gig like that, Id be doing it every day.

There is dyno shops I know, but they are down near Colton. S.T. Motor Sports
Charge: $35 for 3 pulls + A/F Elevation: ~1,200 feet
They are having their dyno inspected and recalibrated soon. I dyno roughly 5 WHP less there than at Powertrain. I'll check this place out again after they have their dyno adjusted.
I'll take a look at Tuning Technologies, they are also dwon near San Bernadino.
As for Powertrain, I think Steve enjoyed having us around. However, we should always ask whats convient for him.

He doesn't just bang out dynos. He can run it so that you get accurate and repeatable numbers.

With dynapack you get a smoother chart (no tire slipping on rollers) and, as mentioned above, without tire/wheel diameter and weight variables, your comparisons between cars become more accurate.
